I went Cave Tubing and to the mountain pine ridge with Belize Adventure trails and both trips were phenomenal! Our tour guide, Oscar, was brilliant. He was so passionate and intelligent and went above and beyond to ensure that we had an amazing time. I am very grateful to him and I wish him and his family all the best for the future.

Went to the ATM caves a few days ago with Belize Adventure Trails. Unfortunately, our guide Renan who is supposedly the most experienced and oldest caving guide in the industry was unfriendly, impatient, abrupt, unsympathetic and completely apathetic. He did not inspire any confidence at all! His attitude was 'I need to get rid of the weakest link in this group'. My group was dumbfounded by his behaviour which was totally unacceptable and made the whole experience awful! What's even more incomprehensible is that Eder the driver made excuses for Renan saying he was tired having worked several days non stop! This is not my problem and as a paying customer paying US$125 dollars for a once in a lifetime experience, this kind of attitude is the last thing one expects!
I made the decision to go based on the information provided which is very misleading. I am extremely disappointed and angry. If you're especially a claustrophic, nyctophobic, a non-swimmer or suffer from anxiety, proceed with caution!!!
Ps. A very big shout out to Patrick from Belize Caving Expeditions who took the time to check if I was ok and for reassuring me. Great guy. I wish he had been my guide.

Imagine being on a trip, super excited to see the ATM caves, only to have a grumpy guide ruin the experience for a claustrophobic & nervous swimmer, and dampen the experience for others.
The blurb said that many claustrophobic & non-swimmers have successfully negotiated the caves but this wasn’t our group’s reality. The incredibly experienced guide, Renan, lacked any form of empathy - and caused one of our group undue stress, so she returned. She remained upset & angry for another 24 hours.
To younger more agile members he snapped, ignored, and overall seemed frustrated that we could not negotiate the caves at his preferred speed. This was excused by the driver with “he hasn’t had a day off in 3 weeks” which isn’t really our problem.
Renan’s attitude is best described as a kind of Jekyll and Hyde attitude. During the walk to the caves he seemed irritated with us and we wondered if we’d made a big mistake! After our friend had returned and we reached artefacts, he turned into a knowledgable and interested guide.
I get what he does is tiring and repetitive but we are tourists, paying out US $125 for a once in a lifetime experience, and this behaviour is unacceptable.
The rest of the service provided by Belize Adventure Trails was enjoyable, Eder is a great driver and lunch host, and this cave guide’s behaviour shouldn’t really reflect on them… except they do choose the freelancer from the group of 28 or so available, so it does.
If you are claustrophobic or a non-swimmer, especially a short non-swimmer, proceed with caution. There are narrow parts to negotiate and many boulders to scramble over.
Overall, I would do it again as it was an amazing experience for me personally but I’d hope for a knowledgable & kind guide instead.

Wilbert helped us get around the country throughout our stay. We did not rent a car so he picked us up from one city and drove us to our next location (two different times). There we places we wanted to see along the way and he accommodated those requests no problem. We stopped at the Blue Hole to swim and then on the second trip we stopped at the Belize Zoo- where he came along and told us about some of the animals (he is very knowledgeable about all things Belize). I absolutely recommend Wilbert and his services!

Wiburt, the owner was NOTHING BUT EXCELLENT. I just walked into Belize from Guatemala and was hit with severe rules, Wilburt helped achieve entrance and basically taught me how to negotiate a pleasant stay in Belize: I am EXTREMELY grateful to have encountered this honest man. I recommed his services completely.

I booked this trip via Expedia. Two days prior to the tour I had a tour with another travel agency doing ATM. That tour agency advised me that the Tikal tour was not possible since the border was closed. I tried to reach this company (Belize Adventure Trails) by phone and email. Despite my attempts and those at the Table Rock Jungle Lodge I was not successful. I went to their website and it was for sale. The day before the trip I went to their office and found that it was no longer in business. In fact another business had replaced it. I took photos of the place since their sign was now behind the other company (a jewelry store). The employees told me that it had been nearly a year since the place was closed.
The other tour company based in San Ignacio said they hadn't heard of this company. I reached out to Expedia for a refund and supposedly Belize Adventure Trails denied the refund for the tour. They are engaging in fraud. I am working with Expedia to get my refund but I wanted to post this as a warning. Do not do business with this company. This is shady stuff. No way to contact them, they did not communicate with me in any way and now they are saying they did the tour (which they couldn't have since the border was closed).
This agency should be removed from Tripadvisor and any other sites.

We booked the Barton Creek Cave/Waterfall day trip and had Elio as our guide. The tour through the cave was incredible and Elio was fantastic. He was a very entertaining and knowledgeable guide who had lots of info on plants, wildlife, Mayan culture, etc. With there being only two of us, Elio paddled the canoe as we enjoyed the sites in the cave. Barton Creek was not physically strenuous and would be suitable for most ages. We also enjoyed our short but steep hike to Big Drop Falls in Mountain Pine Ridge Preserve. We thought about renting a car and doing our own trip through the Preserve, however the roads were very rough and we appreciated doing it with a guide. Two thumbs up.

We booked in advance with Belize Adventure Trails for both the day trip to Tikal as well as the ATM cave tour. The company is very professional. Response to email is quick. We popped by the office in San Ignacio to finalize payments and timing for the next day's excursion which they handled very well. Our tour guide to Tikal was Wilbert who drove us and another couple to the border, crossed with us and drove us in another car to Tikal. He provided excellent information and even briefly stopped to see other sites on the way. It took about 2.5 hours to get to Tikal and he then provided us with a 4 hour walking tour of Tikal. Fabulous! Don't miss it as this was the highlight of our trip to Belize. Wilbert was extremely knowledgeable and fun to be with.

My wife and I went to Tikal film San Ignacio, with Wilbert as our guide. Everything from pick up to drop off went very smoothly. Wilbert was an excellent guide with a vast amount of knowledge of the Tikal compound - both the magnificent structures, and the surrounding greenery. He also helped to make the border crossing into Guatemala a seemless process as well. I would highly recommend his company for your day trip to the "jungle planet."

Excellent tour of Tikal with our guide Wilbert. Not only did he explain all the Myan Ruin history to us but also spent time making sure we saw monkeys and explained and showed us the different trees and plants within the jungle. The lunch that was provided was fabulous. Also want to make mention that his staff of Lauren and Eder were also very helpful during the booking process of getting us from San Ignacio to Flores to spend one night there. Then transferring us from Flores to Tikal the following day to stay in Tikal Jungle Lodge for one night. Then the Tikal Myan Ruin tour and transfer back to San Ignacio. Thank you!

Hi I see on the Itinerary for Tikal that Yaxha is the destination......isn't Yaxha different from Tikal.
