When you're staying at the Windsor hotel, you should ask the staff about the ghost tour. You cannot book this tour online and it's available only if the staff have time. We added the $12 cost per person to our hotel tab. We were the only ones on our tour and it was fascinating to get a peek at rooms that aren't open to the public. The staff person was very knowledgeable about the hotel's history, architecture and furniture. She showed us the bridal suite, which Al Capone was rumored to have slept in as well as the secret staircase that servants used. There were other rooms she showed as us as well. There's not many ghosts to talk about, but the kitchen staff have plenty of stories to tell. This hotel is unique and I'm glad we got to hear so much of its history on this tour. Definitely ask about it when you make reservations!

I would compare this hotel to The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado. So much history and ambience and to top it off -- it's comfortable. I just love it and wish I could visit it more. Everything about it is five star.
