The underwater museum makes for a great family attraction. You don't have to get wet to experience what lies beneath the surface.

Wonderfully informing

We stumbled upon the museum during a day trip and are so glad we did. Though small, it is very well put together, informative, and professional. We learned history and relevance which is always a good thing. Strongly recommend for an hour stop. Easy parking, air conditioning and clean bathrooms.

Good if You Want to Learn How to Snorkel

Nice, clear water, calm and a good place to learn to snorkel. All equipment is included in the price. The underwater artifacts were interesting and the guides were very helpful. It was a good experience for my daughter who had never snorkeled before.

Good for an easy snorkel, especially younger family members

We had a very nice day with good weather. The guides were Sam and Carlos who were very attentive to the small group of 9. The museum was more of an underwater feature representing the history of the area. The guides were great about pointing out different creatures and brought up a sea cucumber for us to pet. They paid attention to who was where and when she got tired, helped our daughter (a tween) catch her breath safely.

The restaurant was simple and had reasonably priced drinks. We didn't eat as we had eaten a larger meal on our cruise ship before hand.

They have a beautiful beach with comfortable seating and some simple shopping.

Weather got in the way

Don't go if there is any chance the water visibility is low. It was a beautiful day on the beach but because of the weather the previous weeks the water was to rough to get good views of the museum. The tour guides though were very good-very concerned about our safety and they tried to get us some views of the museum and were very upfront about the low visibility. All in all I would not prepay for this trip (especially a shore excursion from a cruise) but would try and go if the visibility was good.

Good For first time snorkel.

This is a good choice for amateur snorkelers. We had kind of a big group, which made it difficult to swim in a group to follow the guides. However the coral is low enough down that you can swim around some on your own, as long as you don't go out too far. I would recommend this excursion to anyone looking to snorkel for the first time or a family who has younger children just starting out.

Not really a museum but a fun swim anyway.

Now technically closed but still easy to get to. The place that owed it closed recently and is now a dive company. However, if you have access to a boat, you can get there easy enough. Also, if you happen to stay at Hobbies Hidaway, just a bit down the beach, you can swim over to it. A bit cheesy but fun. It is just a bunch of stuff sunk in about 10-20 feet that. There are several resident stingrays that are likely used to being fed as well as a turtle who seems to always be there (probably fed as well). There is a structure that has a regular lobster that is giant.

Awesome snorkel with a fantastic beach

We did the underwater museum while visiting the area on a cruise. The museum was average but the coral and reef were amazing! The sunken replica artifacts were neat to see but the reef and fish were what made it worth while. The beach after words was very clean and pristine. If you do the tour through a cruise, they pick you up at the cruise port, take you to the resort. You then snorkel for about 45 minutes to an hour. You then get a little over an hour to relax on the beach. Fun the first time, but might look into a longer snorkel trip with a few different reef stops if we end up here again.
