Bethesda Methodist Church in Flowers Bay is a warm, caring, accepting, lively congregation that we always attend when we visit Roatan. I encourage you to visit them as well.

We worshipped again this year with the Flowers Bay Methodist Church. This year marks the 50th year of our marriage. The lay leader called us up to front to honour us and our marriage and the pastor prayed over us. Then the congregation had a lunch and had baked a cake in honour of our marriage and our visit. This is a wonderful group of caring Christians. I would highly recommend a visit to them if you are looking for an excellent English-speaking experience of worship. The pastor picked us up at our hotel and brought us back again after the service. We appreciate everything about our time with Bethesda Methodist Church in Flowers Bay

We worshipped with the congregation at Bethesda Methodist Church at Flowers Bay on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at their 9:30 a.m.. service. We found the congregation caring, compassionate, interested in us, and very welcoming. Their singing was lively, their liturgy engaging, and the whole experience helped us experience authentic Christian worship. This is the oldest church on Roatan and is well worth visiting

Thick walled and used as a refuge in hurricanes, this well maintained and still used antique sanctuary is interesting as an historic site for visitors. We were blessed to be able to go inside and see its inner beauty as well. It is a simple building and there is a basket ball hoop in back. The church is still active and services are held there. The family in the house just to the northeast could give you the service times.
If you are looking for church on the island to attend, there are over 20 Methodist churches on the island, and many of other denominations. Most Methodist services are in English according to local sources. We were not able to attend as we did not gather that information until after Sunday.
This church is in an interesting location if you can get someone to take you down there, and there is a lot of interesting things in that area, which if you are observant you will see. Some real local color. It is a very peaceful neighborhood near the tip of the island. We used Roatan Adventure Tours, which I would highly recommend.
Ron is a great host and guide and can share a lot of information about the island churches.
