Nice museum, great gift shop! The parking lot area is a bit overwhelming with the signs warning of towing your vehicle, and the parking lot with painted spots marked "reserved". It sort of seems unwelcoming. The beautiful museum is on the second level. We were greeted at the desk and received a warm introduction and a map. The museum was not busy. We enjoyed the exhibits and floorplan of the halls. The museum gift shop offered unique items for all ages at all price points. The clerk was very nice and obviously loves her work.

What a pleasant surprise! Everyone in our group of parents, grandparents and a teen enjoyed the museum while we were visiting Augusta. There’s an impressive collection of art from a variety of periods and in a variety of styles, so there was something that appealed to everyone, regardless of their taste. The breadth and size of the collection was impressive too and unexpected for a city of this size. Finding the entrance was surprisingly challenging though. The main entrance is actually from the Riverwalk side, on the second floor. From the parking lot, the entrance is actually on the opposite side of the building, and then you enter on the first floor and need to go upstairs and down the hallway to get to the main desk.

We love visiting the Morris Museum of Art! There are beautiful exhibits and a great gift shop! They frequently host events at the museum. Family-friendly! My kids enjoyed it and asked to go back.

This is a small but beautiful art museum. Several of the pictures are quite thought provoking. One particular picture noted is that of a slave auction. Look closely at the person being auctioned and the imagery of the picture. Wow! Many of the pictures are quite old and done by masterful artists. Visit and enjoy. It is one of the best things that Augusta has to offer!

It is located in the Augusta Riverfront Center. There is free 2 hour visitor parking available. The main entrance to the museum is on the second floor of the building, but you can enter on the first floor. There are a few paintings on exhibit on the first floor. The second floor galleries have many paintings, sculptures, and other types of art. There are a few modern art works. There is a gift shop on the second floor./

If what you are looking for is a small, intimate, local art museum this place is great! I went on a Saturday and it was not busy and cheap! It is, of course, not international quality, but it is good!

My family and I decided to venture out to some new cities within driving distance of home and ended up trying Augusta on a whim for one night and day. I forgot to check the hours for many of the sights in Augusta on a Monday afternoon so many weren't open but luckily The Morris Museum of Art was and I am happy that we visited. This is not a huge museum but the collection is impressive, varied and interesting and the space inside is utilized well. We would visit again if we the opportunity presented itself.

Museum has a variety of southern artists not usually seen. It has an assortment of historical paintings and landscapes, and some contemporary artists. I was here in the late pandemic and there were only two other people there. A stroll along the riverwalk is a good related activity.

Interesting museum sheltered in a more modern building. Has a collection of modern art with some unexpected pieces. We ducked in here without much planning and it was clean and quiet (and cool) and the admission fee was nominal.
Usual collection of some old portraiture from the south which was not too exciting, but some of the older paintings from the south and the civil war era has some interesting history attached to them. the modern collection is probably more than I would have expected. Grateful to see that a small town like Augusta has a decent art museum that seems well supported by the local community, and is housed very conveniently just off the river walk.

This is a very nice art museum that showcases the art of the south. They offer folk art, art glass, hand colored prints from hand cut blocks, abstract, contemporary, impressionism, 19th century portraits, regionalism, still life, modernism, and more. My favorites were the folk art, art glass, and contemporary. It has a great layout and flow making it easy to move around.
A couple of the security had an attitude but most of them were very friendly. I recommend this art museum if you are visiting Augusta. I also wish adults that bring kids in with them would make sure they don't run around all over the place. The security could have done a better job with the rambunctious kids and their parents.

Regina is correct. I went to the Museum on a Sunday, and so it was free. I don't know what the regular rate is.
