If you want to explore Maui beyond the beach and the swimming pool, this is a great option. The church is beautiful and it's a historic building. You'll also find a gift shop with Catholic gifts at great prices. Experience a different view of the island. It's a great drive!

My wife found this on the map and said we had to go here. So it is not on the main highway but we did find it. It is a hesxagonal Church on the flanks of Haleakala with a view of the Lahaina and Wailuku Coasts.

For those who continue past Hana, Ohe'o Gulch, and Kipahulu on Hwy 360 and the Piilani Hwy around the back side (or south side) of the island, not driving a quarter mile to the Holy Ghost Mission would be a terrible mistake. Further, you would likely be there in time for a great background: SUNSET!

This is a beautiful church. The view from up there is amazing. It’s a great place to stop if you’re in the area.

My family and I are Portuguese and catholic so visiting this church built in 1899 was a must do on our trip. The lady at the gift shop was really sweet and encouraged us to explore the church and grounds. I am glad my kids got to experience a little history in this cute little church.

I made a quick stop here and was not disappointed. It is a very sweet little church with beautiful Stations of the Cross brought from Austria. The staff was vacuuming when I arrived but devoted time to welcoming me and answering questions. I walked around the cemetery outside too.

When traveling 'upcountry' be sure to make a stop at this special place. It is infused with history, culture, and apparent care by the 'locals' who are members of this parish. The views are stunning. Take the few minutes in your travels to see the Holy Ghost Mission.

We drove out to Kula to attend the Saturday evening mass. What a great experience. Very friendly parish. We enjoyed the singing and loved the small yet ornate church. Lovely gift shop was a nice place to visit after mass. Adjoining cemetery is beautiful too.

It is worth visiting this little jewel built in 1895 by Portuguese immigrants from Madeira and the Azores. The drive to the church in upcountry Maui is beautiful and so is the view from the church. It is inspirational to folks of all beliefs.
