I have been to this market multiple times over the past decade and it is a must stop location when in the city and in need of souvenirs. Many of the stalls sell similar products. I like to go and see what each seller has that is uniquely their own. When you come here, you better bring your patience and bargaining skills, the people are friendly and I always leave with a beautiful piece of jewelry.

I usually go there often since am a fan of culture arts. I usually like the crafting its varieties.... beautiful place to do study, observe African culture specifically Tanzanians. If you want wood craft, paintings, African vitenge, vikoi, design African tops, Earings, bungles, wall art, traditional self-made art here is the place. I would recommend more tourist to visit this place often. You can get presents for your loved ones.

Smart shopping place. Lots of unique and beautiful items. Reasonable prices and you are allowed to bargain . If you are looking for authentic Tanzanian gifts items this is the best place for you.

The market has about 60 stalls. They have similar items with slight difference. You can shop for wood carvings of small animals like lions and elephant to other carvings of maasai heads and complex carvings depicting multiple people. It's a good idea to look around more before buying something so as to get exactly what you are looking for . It's also okay to negotiate when the price doesn't resonate with you . There stalls that sell tribal items, which can very interesting too.

There are some very talented wood carvers here. Carvings of all sizes. I didn't come here to buy, but just to observe and chat with the artists who would talk to me. I didn't bring a camera, but for visitors who want to take pictures, it's okay to photograph the Carvings but maybe not the carvers.

This sprawling market has stalls in the front and the artists studios in the back. The artists create all different types and sizes of wood carvings. Although many don't want there pictures taken, you can take pictures of their creations and of the hands working on the pieces of art. Very interesting.

It is a handicraft market to find everything.You have to negotiate very tough for the prices to go almost 70% lower. Inviting vendors are really boring but you can find really good original African masks at very reasonable prices.

I was lucky that at the first stall I visited along the main road, the seller (a young man that spoke English) assisted with navigating the stalls for the items I was looking for and at the best prizes. I felt safe despite being a solo female traveller

Its a good place to buy or access cultural material from Tanzanian artists. The have a way of crafting the woods and beads to represent certain story or attach them to several this like watches, bracelets, cotton material, vikoi etc

here you get to see so many products which are hand made by the sellers there are painters,sandals makers,bracelet makers and so much more,the part i love most about this place there are so many women whom are entrepreneurs.
