It is very well maintained and clean, but...
The price is high and racist (foreigners are paying much more). It is very small and you dont need more than 30 mins or 1 hour maximum.

The Dr. Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and Memorial Park in Accra honors Ghana's first President, Kwame Nkrumah. The museum displays his belongings, documents, and photographs, providing insights into his life and Pan-Africanist ideals. I had a chance to visit this park in December 2024. During my visit, I was particularly moved by the inspiring quotes adorning the walls. These words, spoken by Nkrumah himself, continue to resonate, offering profound insights into his philosophy and aspirations. Some of his most famous quotes include:
1. "I am not African because I was born in Africa but because Africa was born in me."
2. “We face neither East nor West: we face forward."
3. "The independence of Ghana is meaningless unless it is linked-up with the total liberation of the African Continent"

We had a great experience.Visiting this park is a must while in GHANA.We learnt alot about the colonial.The history was very sweet.He was the first prime minister thats why it was named after him.

Park upamiętniający Kwame Nkrumaha został otwarty w roku 1992. Powstał na miejscu dawnego brytyjskiego pola golfowego .Dokładnie w tym miejscu K. Nkrumah ogłosił niepodległość Ghany [ wtedy jeszcze jako Gold Coast ].Po ponad rocznym remoncie 04 lipca 2023 roku park został ponownie udostępniony zwiedzającym .Odnowione baseny z ciekawymi fontannami , bardzo zadbana zieleń ,mauzoleum z grobem K. Nkrumaha i muzeum prezentują się bardzo okazale . Na gości czeka też biblioteka , sklep z pamiątkami czy restauracja i czyste toalety .. Wszystko zrobione nowocześnie i z rozmachem. Dla mieszkańców Ghany to jedna z największych atrakcji stolicy . Kwame Nkrumah był nie tylko I prezydentem Ghany ale również jednym z ojców panafrykanizmu i wielkim orędownikiem ścisłej współpracy krajów afrykańskich .Był jednak politykiem dość kontrowersyjnym posądzonym o dyktatorskie zapędy i "komunistyczne" przekonania . Był prezydentem w latach 1960-66. Został od władzy odsunięty zamachem stanu . Musiał emigrować a zmarł na raka w Bukareszcie w roku 1972 .

Amazing beautiful memorial for Ghana first Prime minister of Ghana . He led the independence of Gold Coast from Britain. Amazing location downtown Accra, lots of parking . You need tickets to enter. Ticket prices varies if you are a citizen of Ghana or a tourist. Very reasonable prices. Very clean ticket area with bathroom facilities. When you enter get your camera ready to take beautiful pics of the bronze statue of Dr Nkrumah. The Mausoleum is the final resting place for Dr Nkrumah and it's so beautiful . There is also a museum with pictures and speeches from him and a garden with statues in waterfalls. Must must when visiting Ghana. Enjoy

The park offers a guided tour in English, nicely giving the history of Nkrumah and the time of independence. Much of the tour is outdoors, bring a fan! It took less than an hour and the guide was open to questions. There is a small bookshop and I think an onsite restaurant. There are aggressive street vendors at the parking lot, be prepared.

This is a must see museum if you’re visiting Accra.
When visiting Ghana there are a lot of references to Ghana’s founding father, but this museum tells you the story of Kwame Nkrumah’s life and fight for Ghana to gain its independence. A small but beautiful piece of history.

In my 2016 review I expressed my disappointment at the neglect observed since my 2006 visit. I am thrilled to see that the restoration and addition has been completed. We opted to take the guided tour. Our guide could have been a bit more engaging, but he was definitely knowledgeable about the material presented. The main entry hall is large and well lit, with beautiful art. Bathrooms are clean and conveniently located. The gift shop is stocked with lots of local artifacts (although many can be purchased at lower negotiated prices at the art center next door). The grounds are well maintained and fountains are back in operation. The main museum is sectioned off by colors denoting the various stages of Nkrumah’s life. I don’t remember this being the case before, but it could be that I’ve just forgotten. We did not visit the cafe. Well done.

Does anyone know how the renovations are going and when this will reopen? It was supposed to reopen in March 2023 but that obviously didn’t happen.

The entrance fee is ten Ghana cedis for adults. The equivalent of about about two dollars fifty cents.
