If you've never been to the heart of Africa, you can't find better or more attentive guides than with Kumbukumbu tours. I found Kumbukumbu Tours through multiple YouTube channels that used them as a guide through Africa. We went on an 18 day trip. They did a great job guiding us. I trust them and am hoping to do more trips with them in the future.

Together with Obed we travelled through the heart of DRC: from Kinshasa to Kisangani which took us 3 weeks. If you embark on such a journey, you need to prepare to expect the unexpected. At first there were some miscommunications with arranging the date when we start the travel but Obed behaved responsibly - once we’ve met in Kinshasa, he made sure we get the best experience. He organized for us transportation, meals, visa extension and translated not only the languages of Lingala, Swahili and French to English but also every day he explained the cultural contexts which, in our case, were very important as my intention was to write a novel about our journey. Obed is a reliable person. I’d definitely travel with him again. Also, he’s cool. It’s a type of person who you’d like to spend time with. I’ve also met his other team members and all I could see was profesionalism which is not a common view in such a complicated but beautiful country as DRC. All in all, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Kumbukumbu Tours!

A good trip to the DRC, Rwanda and Burundi. In the part of DRC and Rwanda, the local guides (Rachael)were excellent, very helpful to me. She is a nice person and do her job in heart and professionalism. She helped to me to solve the great problems that letted by our poorly tour leader who put me in an unsafe position. She helped me safely back home. I want thank you to her once again.

My father and I just ended a short visit to Rwanda with Kumbumumbu. We explored Kigali, took a drive up north to Volcano National Park, trekked with gorillas, and experienced authentic Rwandan culture all within 2.5 days! Our guide, Dieudonnè, was the shining star of the trip for us (aside from the gorillas, of course). He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and very in love with Rwanda. It’s awesome to have a guide with so much passion for their country. I will definitely be requesting him as our guide if we come back in the future.

Our family trip to east Africa was extraordinary! KUMBUKUMBU tours and specifically Obed, Sammy, and Rachael made the entire trip stress-free, in countries that can be stressful! The trek to the mountain Gorillas on Rwanda is NOT TO BE MISSED!!!! The safari in the Masai Mara truly AMAZING and you must have Masai guides. Put everything in the hands of KUMBUKUMBU and it will be the trip of a lifetime.

Highly recommend Kumbukumbu Tours to any traveller. My experience with the team, from early communication about my tailored itinerary, pick up from the airport, delivery of each of the experiences, friendliness, kindness and professionalism of guides, especially Obed, was simply wonderful.
My visit to Rwanda was amazing, lifelong memories that will stay forever in my heart, and much of this because of this “off the beaten track” tour experience which allowed me to truly connect with the African culture and people.
Kudos once again to Obed who is a wonderful guide, storyteller, professional, and foremost, person.
Cannot wait to my next adventure with this wonderful team when I’m back to Africa.

Wir waren im Akagera und im Vulcano Nationalpark über insgesamt drei Tage. Unsere Guides waren super nett, cool drauf, sehr flexibel und haben alle unsere Wünsche möglich gemacht. Alles hat super ziverlässig geklappt (Pünktlichkeit, Bezahlung, sonstige Absprachen)
Einfach ein großartiges Erlebnis - ich würde es genauso wieder machen und auch jedem, der/die mal in Ruanda ist empfehlen:)

We arranged a custom 3-country tour of Burundi, DRC, and Rwanda with Kumbukumbu and had a fabulous experience. The itinerary was thoughtfully put together, communication with the team was excellent, and both Obed and Sammy truly went out of their way to ensure that we had a wonderful trip. We look forward to future trips to more east African destinations with Kumbukumbu, and would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to visit the region.

Hi, I woukd be interested in seeing rhe gorillas. It is my understanding that the prices are much lower from DRC. Do you also organize tours in DRC?

In August or September I will be in Kigali. I would like a budget tour to include Uganda, DRC, Burundi and Tanzania but only have 7-14 days. I would like to see mountain gorillas, maybe chimpanzees, Lake Kivu, Virunga or another DRC mountain gorilla area. Meals, cheap lodging and a mountain gorilla viewing and tracking permit should be included. Also would like to know how much to tip the guide(s) and best way to get visa(s) for the 4 countries (East Africa visa?). Safety is important. Obed, you come highly recommended on the Internet. Please would you send me a plan with pricing for the features mentioned above? Thank you. Steve Richards
