We had an awesome time seeing the chimpanzees and gorillas with Kisoro tours. Dan was an amazing tour leader, who drove us safely from Kigali to all of the different stops. Both tracking days were wonderful and we got to see both the chimpanzees and gorillas up close. Would highly recommend taking this trip with Kisoro tours.

Daniel N. provided a tour of a lifetime. His demonstrated knowledge of the Ugandan culture was impeccable. The tour went off without a hitch. We were fortunate to visit the Bitukura Gorilla family, and it was awesome. Much better that watching it on Nat-GEO. Later we went to the reserve and witnessed lions stalking and later consuming bufalos. I have highly recommend this to others.

Our holiday with Kisoro Tours Uganda surpassed my expectations. Dan drove us expertly and taught us so much about Uganda, the people and of course the countryside and the wildlife. It was so exciting to see so many animals and birds so close to us in their natural habitats from giraffes, various antelope, monkeys, zebra and many many birds on the drives and on the lake trip. The experience was so enjoyable, very well organised and personally adapted to our needs.

Dan from Kisoro Tours met us in Kampala and drove us to Lake Mburu in time for a wonderful lunch at our lodge. We then drove through the game park to Lake Mburu and had a wonderful afternoon boat trip with an array of amazing bird life including seeing the elusive African Finfoot as well as many fish eagles and kingfishers. Hippo and Nile Crocodile were also plentiful. We had an evening game drive on the way back to the lodge seeing zebra, giraffe, water buffalo and many different antelope. The accommodation and hospitality were superb and very comfortable. We got up early next day and had an early morning game drive before coming back for breakfast. It was a wonderful trip, well organised and a smoothly run operation. Thank you Dan.

Four of us went on a 2 day 1 night trip to Mburo National Park from Kampala. We went with Dan from Kisoro Tours. We had an excellent trip. Dan is a very knowledgeable guide. We saw lots of birds including crown cranes, fish eagles, kingfishers, weaver birds and vultures. A boat trip on the lake gave us a great opportunity to see hippopotamus and Nile crocodiles as well as birds. We were amazed at the abundance of wildlife on the game drives, we saw many zebra, giraffe and lots of different antelope. Our accommodation was very comfortable and the trip was good fun.

This was a fantastic trip. My wife and I and friend had a marvelous trip with Eddy our driver and guide. We went to Akagera, Nyungwe and Volcanoes National Parks in Rwanda. The places we stayed were great with delicious meals (often way more than we could eat so we learned to share dishes), especially the fresh fruit everywhere. We were fortunate to not hike too far into the jungles to see the gorillas, chimpanzees, and golden monkeys. In two days we saw the Big Five plus so many more. On the road and at the parks, Eddy was always watchful of birds since I like photographing them--and he knew them all.
We'll be back--next time to also visit Uganda.

We have spent during January and February 20 fantastic days in Uganda and Rwanda. The organization of the trip by Dan of Kisoro Tours Uganda Ltd was extraordinary. All lodges, hotels, permits, parks, game drives, restaurants, and activities were perfectly booked, waiting for us.
We followed an itinerary carefully designed together with Dan that allowed us to know all what Uganda and Rwanda can offer to the tourists: trekking with gorillas in the mountains of the Impenetrable Forest of Bwindi, trekking with chimps in Kibale National Park, trekking with golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park, rhinos at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the game drives, Kazinga Channel and Ishasha at Queen Elizabeth National Park, the magnificent Murchison Falls, the River Nile, the Big 5 in Akagera National Park!!! All of them incredible experiences, once in the life!!! All that together with great natural beauty, lakes, craters, rivers, falls, swamps, history, culture, gastronomy, excellent hotels and lodges, and people so kind everywhere!!!
We drive with Dan in his Safari vehicle through all the most amazing places of Uganda and Rwanda. Trekking and Habituation of Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest were the most exciting experiences that anyone can have. Ben, our Spanish speaker guide, was an essential part of this trip, always trying to fulfill all our needs and requests!!!
Both, Dan and Ben are very knowledgeable of all aspects of Uganda and Rwanda: historical, cultural, social, geographic, and are extraordinary communicating to their tourists, solving all the doubts and trying to make each day a fabulous experience. Spanish of Ben is excellent!!!
I highly recommend Kisoro Tours Uganda Ltd, Dan and Ben to enjoy an unforgettable Safari in Uganda and Rwanda, like ours!!!

My husband, his parents and I have recently come back from an amazing trip to Uganda and Rwanda. Dan was incredible and I could not be more thankful for all he (and Ben) did for us.
We started planning this trip about a year before, researching the activities we were interested in doing and the different tour companies Uganda had to offer. We finally decided we would go with Dan (Kisoro) because of the great costumer service and the credentials. With his help we customized the perfect itinerary for us. We literally chose the number of days, the activities for each day, the lodges, etc. Dan, very kindly, gave us some insight into what would be more convenient for our particular group and why. It's important to say that my father-in-law requested a Spanish-speaking guide and Dan made sure we had the best: Ben!
We really enjoyed our time in Africa and Dan & Ben were a great part of it. Dan has this great personality and he seemed to know EVERYONE we encountered on the safaris, the roads and the hotels, which makes you feel very safe. I can tell he's very loved and respected. He has this laugh that is just so contagious.. one of the best laughs I have ever heard, and he's so outgoing! He even danced for us during our visit to the Iby'iwacu Cultural Village!! Ben is such a prepared person who has a unique insight and educated opinion about all things Uganda. He's very calming and you just enjoy his company!
Here's the route / some activities my husband and I did! (his parents arrived before and left after we did) Thank you Dan & Ben for getting us on time to every one of them! (even tho we, my family and I, were always a bit late for you haha):
Kampala (Uganda) --> Murchison Falls National Park (the falls and safari) --> Kibale National Park (Chimpanzees) --> Queen Elizabeth National Park (safari) --> Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (Gorillas!) --> Volcanoes National Park (Rwanda) (Golden Monkeys) --> Kigali (Rwanda)
A few tips for fellow travelers:
- If you're traveling from America please take your hiking boots with you (I mean not in the checked bag). They're the single most important thing you have to bring and the risk of your luggage never arriving is real... I should know. AND make sure to pack everything you're gonna need.. its difficult to get specific things when you're on the road.
- Listen when your guide tells you to take a porter with you to the hikes. It could be more difficult than you imagine.
- Be open to the idea that anything can happen and just roll with it! You're in Africa having one of the best and most unique experiences of your life, just enjoy anything and everything!
I will never forget this trip and I have to thank Dan & Ben for this!! I really hope to see you guys again! Best of luck always <3 !!

Dan with Kisoro was very good and accommodating. I flew into Rwanda and stayed an extra night there to rest up. Then drove to lodge in Uganda, near the entrance to Bwindi. I did the Habituation trek, which requires quite a hike into the mountains, but with far fewer people, and at least 4-5 hours with the gorillas, a total of maybe 9 hour trek, about 10 miles. Definitely hire a porter... well worth the little expense no matter what you carry with.. or not carry. a helping hand was needed a few times.
I wanted to see more of Uganda, so I choose to drive to Entebbe. However because of the distance, I stopped mid way at the Mihingo Lodge. fabulous stay. highly recommended. then after a few days, I drove the balance to fly out of Entebbe.
Tell Dan exactly what you want to do... and he'll manage it... very helpful and a nice guy. highly recommended on all levels.
