“乌干达主要的英国教会”

Namirembe Cathedral

Namirembe cathedral is a must on a day trip in Kampala city. The cathedral is on the Namirembe hill. Walking up to the cathedral, you would be able to enjoy the city laid out on the side of the hill. There are millions of beautiful birds giving you the company. Sundays are busy and noisy. For foreign nationals, there is a guided tour available with UGX 10000. The tour takes you through the cathedral's history. But what is more worth is the visit to the cathedral. The structure is made of old Mahogany wood and is quite grand. I especially liked the Berlin Wall remnant. Keep at least 45 minutes for the visit. I was not impressed with the souvenirs on display as most items were too religious in nature.

Ugands's Christian history is interesting, compelling and awe-inspiring - particularly the stories of the Uganda Martyrs. This is just a religious building and I wouldn´t bother going.

On namirembe hill Cathedral .I think its a place you should visit once in awhile because the way the religious mood will come upon you is sudden but very strong

This structure is over a 100 years old and carries much history from the colonial days - to the present- still preserves its serene sanctity- Even saw a beautiful wedding

Beautiful Cathedral with a great view of Kampala!

I enjoyed visiting this Cathedral & was thrilled to see a confirmation service in progress while I was there. The congregation were very formally dressed in beautiful colourful clothes & the girls taking partin the confirmation were wearing white.
I visited a second time to hear the Bivuga Sinfonia play a concert on Good Friday.

Iconic landmark. For the religious faithful, this is a must visit. This place is known for its serene environment and peacefulness. Namirembe refers a sit of peace in the luganda dialect.
