Very reliable & well organized. Very helpful & experienced Tour Guide & Driver. Strongly recommend to contact Bhutan Bokar Tours for trips to Bhutan.

We really appreciated the very good organisation of our 15 day trip to Bhutan, especially the 11 day Laya-Gasa trekking. Due to the unusual late spring the weather was vert cold and sometimes challenging, but thanks to the experience and good organisation of the crew it was still possible for us to complete it and still make it an enjoyable and memorable experience.
Bokar Tours has a very good and experienced staff that has room for personal requests or interests and works with a personal approach. Would definitely recommend them for any visit trekking or cultural visit.

Bokar travel is a relatively small tourorganisation which organises trekkings, city visits and other outings in Bhutan. I did an 8 days tour in western bhutan. 1 driver and 1 guide accompanied me. Thats a nice way to learn about The country, the culture and its people. Bhutan is a clean country with beautiful nature, beautiful tempels and Dzongs and nice small villages. Traffic is easy going and hardly any littering. Hotels are very expensive since they have not much 4* hotels, its either 3* (60 usd) or 5* (700-1700 usd). The main negative item to mention is the large number of streetdogs which sleep during day time and bark all night!! Bokar tours gave me good service and was flexible towards some personal demands. The trekking towards Tigers Nest, if the horse service is not available, should not be underestimated and is very heavy and halfway was good enough for me.....

We were accompanied by a good guide (Wangchuk) and a perfect driver (Denling). We started with them to explore the very "nice" roads in the East, we were very happy with the good driver. the Dzongs were perfect, we enjoyed it very much; also the West, with the tiger nest as a top was very nice. We slept 3 nights in a B&B, which was wonderful for us. The food was, although always rice included, wonderful; with a lot of local dishes included. The nice thing was also the very peaceful rest in Bhutan. Bokar tours is for sure a very good alternative for this tours...

We have for a long time wanted to see Bhutan, as we are big lovers of Asia in general and Buddhist countries in particular. From the time we met with the Belgian representative of Bokar tours in the Netherlands, who is very passionate about the country, to the end of the tour it had been one big overwhelming experience for us. Everything was organised perfectly well with the freedom to decide yourself as well. Hotels and food were certainly above our expectations, but what really made our trip was the thoughtfulness, expertise and personal attention and care of our guide, Dorji, as well as our safe and excellent driver Hisji. Dorji has a passion and pride for his country, his religion and culture and really wants to share this with his guests to educate them and make them as passionate as him about Bhutan. The country itself is certainly wonderful. We've been to over 80 countries but Bhutan will always have a special place in our heart. Bhutan's people are very friendly and pure, it's culture unique and well preserved, it's temples and Dzongs extraordinary beautiful as well as its mountains and scenery. Thank you Bokar tours, Dirk, Dorji and Hisji and hopefully till next time!

Bhutan een unieke ervaring. Het landschap, de cultuur, de mensen, het boedhisme, de wandelingen, de fietstocht,...;De hele crew van Bokar heeft ons geweldig geholpen om er een onvergetelijke vakantie van te maken. Wangchuck & chocki zijn een fantastisch duo om mee te hebben. De hele organisatie wordt geleid door Karma die een sterke bewaking op de kwaliteit doet. Dank Dirk om ons met Bokar in contact te brengen. Een echte aanrader.

We booked a 7 day tour "highlights of Bhutan" via Dirk Verboven at the Belgian office of Bokar Tours. Our review is very simple : we honestly have NOTHING to 'complain' about !! Before we left, we met Dirk at the travel fair in the Netherlands and we communicated quite often via email. We also had the choice in between homestays, hotels, eco lodge .. and Dirk adapted the standard travel itinerary to our interests. Great TIP from Dirk : you can check in Royal Bhutan airlines online 24hrs before and should take a seat on the LEFT handside from Nepal to Bhutan for incredible Himalayan views !!) Upon arrival in Bhutan, we were greeted by our guide Sonam and driver Choki. We had an excellent 7 day trip together, very informative, and absolute fun ! The personal service we got was really TOP, also the car Choki was driving was luxury for us. Both Sonam and Choki did their utmost best to give us the best possible experience of Bhutan. Everybody in Bhutan is extremely attentive & helpful. Food was plentiful (buffet style) and very tasty, be sure to try the local chilly cheese, hot but yummie !! We miss it already … Bokar Tours is highly recommended !!

My Brother & I visited Bhutan in September of 2018. The short trip was a somewhat spontaneous addition to a planned trek in Nepal.
The Trip was Amazing- Bhutan is an amazing country, in an amazing landscape, with amazing people. I would suggest to anyone pondering an adventure there to go without hesitation.
We literally finalized the booking/tour two days before going during a layover in the Narita airport of Japan.
I was initially wary of any adventure that involved a mandatory “tour company & guide” however myself & my brother could not have been happier with the experience provided by Bokar tours. From the beginning Karma was exceptionally accommodating to our itinerary- although the actual duration of the trip was short, Karma provided all the experiences & sights we had hoped for & wanted to visit. Especially, as I mentioned, on such short notice.
In regards to the actual “tour” - as I mentioned - I was somewhat apprehensive of having my experience be “guided” (of course, its Bhutan, so there is no other options) however my reservations were entirely unfounded.
Are guide Sonam & Driver Tashi are incredibly good people, offering us hospitality that made us feel like family. The entire trip we felt as if we were traveling with old friends who only had our best interest & most rewarding experiences in mind.
Although this was my first time doing a “tour” with a company - I have since been on a few more “guided tours” in other countries & I hold the experience I had with Sonam, Tashi, Karma, & Bokar tours as the gold standard.
Plus Karma makes a potent cup of espresso!
If you’re thinking about visiting Bhutan- Go! And if you are looking for a well organized, compassionate, & welcoming tour company- go with Bokar tours!

We had a wonderfull 15 days trip from east to west Bhutan with Bokar tours. Our guide Wangchuck and driver Choki did a great job. We had a lot of fun. Nothing was to much for them. The service you get from them is great. We have seen a lot and the guide can tell you all about it. We made some short hikes, the nature is great. A good driver is very important because not all the roads are asphalted. In Bhutan prevails a good vibe. The people are very friendly and the most speaks englisch. At the end we asked for a lunch with no tourists. They arranged a private lunch outside that was great. So we also had a great goodbye dinner with a campfire (even Mr Chime was present, what was very nice). So if you ask for something they try to arrange it. So thanks again Wangchuck and Choki for this great experience and holiday. Bokar tours have a sale representative in Belgium and so they know more about our standars as well.

If you want to do some hiking in Bhutan, here you are definitely right! We found Bokar Tours by coincidence in internet while planning our hiking-and-culture-trip to Bhutan and it was a good luck. They understand your wishes and comply with them, even when you do not have much time to discover the country, they still deliver you a full experience of it with a fine service. There is nothing I could mention would have gone wrong during our stay or while planning it - everything was managed and organized well. We also understood us very well with Sonam, our guide. We hope we will be able to visit Bhutan again in the future and if we do, we will definitely ask Bokar Tours again to organize our trip. Definitely worth mentioning: For customers in Europe, they have a sales representative in Belgium, which makes the communication easier.

How long does it take for staff to respond, its been 10 days? I am interested in 7-9 nights package and no reply back regarding availability.

It shouldn’t take that long. I recommend to send a reminder to Karma - I experienced once that my email had gone in the wrong folder and hence Karma was not aware that the email had not been attended to until he received my follow up email.

What is the best time of year for Bhutan and how long of a trip should one plan? Any recommendations for book or website to learn more about the country? I keep hearing it is amazing and want to go but not sure best way to approach planning a trip.

May is the perfect season to visit, where you will able to explore lot of places. But if don't want to go for long trekking than you can visit between Oct-Dec (Nov is best month).
I have used Bhutan Bokar tour operator for my visit because tourist need to book tour from registered tour operator. I found they have some quality reviews.
