A MUST do if you are visiting Kathmandu! We had a wonderful time learning about Nepalese food, language & culture. Amrit & Sudeshana are very nice people and we highly recommend this wonderful experience!! I also enjoyed the short drive out of the tourist area to see more of Kathmandu. Absolutely fascinating!!

At the end of our trip in Nepal, we joined this cooking course. We absolutely do not regret our choice for this specific cooking course as it was a unique experience: cooking in the home of a Nepalese family in the north of Kathmandu. Since the location is just outside the busy center of Kathmandu, the house also has its own vegetable garden, which makes organic cooking possible. The owners of the house and therefore also the hosts of the cooking course (Amrit and Sudeshana) welcomed us warmly and together we cooked delicious dishes. We would definitely recommend this cooking course!

It was an amazing experiece cooking with Amrit and his wife!!

The cooking class was very nice. We got to know the Nepali food and it’s traditions. It was also nice to see how a traditional Nepali family lives.

The most fantastic experience. Amrit and his wife Anu host this cooking class at their house and me and my husband absolutely loved it. The food was delicious, the company was great we had a great time. Talked about Nepalese culture, raising kids, traditions and food. Anu is an excellent cook and we had so much fun making celebration bread. Is out of the buzz of Thamel but that for us was a plus. Amrit picked up us up at the hotel, took us to local veggie market where we picked some stuff for the menu and then went to his home.
We could chose the menu entirely as we are vegetarians and have some dietary restrictions and they made it super easy. 100% recommended.

My husband and I took a half-day cooking class with Amrit and his wife during our honeymoon last week. We had the most incredible time!! As an herbalist and holistic nutritionist, I value home-made cooking and farm-to-table eating. We toured Amrit's garden and farm outside of his home and saw the whole process of how food is grown, processed, and then cooked. It was an incredible experience to have a behind the scenes peek into local life and cooking. Highly recommend!

I had an amazing morning with the family learning to cook some Nepali favourites! My favourite souvenir that I’m taking back to Canada is how to r
create veggie momos.
I was instantly put at ease and welcomed into their home. There is lots of love in their house, and it is reflected in their delicious cooking. Highly recommend, even for novice chefs like myself who make wobbly-shaped momos! ❤️

Awesome cooking class.
We learnt how to make delicious Nelapese food, in a fun environment, and they even said they'll email us the recipes so we can replicate everything at home.
Only 2 of us, so essentially a private session.

The family were very welcoming and made us feel like home. We cooked traditional food from scratch, we had Dal Bhat and for desert we had rice pudding with selroti, it was delicious❤️

Loved this cooking class, very authentic, with a very welcoming Nepali family, in their home. I only could do a half day class because I had to take a flight in the afternoon, but they organized the schedule to suit me. They picked me up at my hotel and brought me back afterwards. We managed to make momos, dal bhat, rice pudding and sel roti (a kind of donut). A lot of the vegetables came from their garden and were freshly picked when we arrived. We had so much food I couldn’t eat everything! I would advise going there on an empty belly, and do the full day course. Hopefully I’ll be able to do the full day next time I come to Nepal! Thanks to Amrit and the whole family!

I did the class alone as there was no one else available a the time. Amit's home is very small and I don't think there is room for more than 6 people. They are a very agreeable, lovely family and will fit you in whenever it suits. Just do it!

Hi Yashu,
I did a cooking class with Amrit and Anu about six months ago - it was fantastic! Amrit will take you to the markets to shop for fresh ingredients and Anu will take you through every step of cooking traditional Nepali food - entree, main, sides and dessert! It was one of the best things I did in nepal :)
