The 98 th San Generro festival in Little Italy, NYC was so much fun, food like you can even imagine out the ying yang. Packed but every one respectfull even in NYC. Great time. Try to make it next year for the 99th year.

Too many people and too small of an area we celebrated the day before in Phuket and it was much better experience. You could not even get to Khao San Road because there were too many people. Ended up going back to the hotel early.

We were in Thailand for a 500 klm in 5 days charity push bike ride to raise $$ for the kids in the Hands Across the Water orphanages. Before we got going we ( as a large group) went to Khao San Rd and let loose. - THE BEST FUN I have had in many years and not one person got angry ( which would end in a fight in most other countries)

潑水節真的很好玩，大家都抱著過節的心態，拿著水槍到處射，射到路人都不能還擊，隊友們都哈哈大笑，所有壓力及煩惱都忘記，尤其在考山路，雖然只有短短的幾條街，但感覺比SIAM那邊更RAW。

潑水節相當於泰國慶祝過年, 也是泰國最熱的月份, 考山路可看到不少興奮高昂的小朋友拿著水槍噴水, 可和當地居民互動, 不錯的體驗

Is shopping still open on khao San road or anywhere close during songkran?

Haven't been recently. ( heading there today). But last time I was there there was very limited shopping due to risk of items getting wet, soon as festival over, the street vendors return

We are travelling with 2 kids ages 13 and 11, do you think Khao San Road or Silom Road will be a better Songkran experience for them? Looking for the family friendly option i.e. less booze :-)

Do they celebrate this way all over Thailand because me and my partner are going to the full moon party in ko Phangan april 17 and would to join in the fun.
