We took the day tour to Doi Inthanon with Ukrit Yasuwan, the owner/operator of Chiangmai Meesuk. The tour includes time at the pagodas and gardens near the top of Doi Inthanon, a short hike in a temperate forest near the summit, then lunch, followed by a longer hike through a beautiful valley with a number of waterfalls ending in a Karen village. Then there was a final stop at a popular waterfall accessible without hiking. Ukrit was an excellent tour guide who told us a great deal about northern Thailand and the sights we visited. His English was very good. The highlight was the longer hike, for which we had a local Karen guide (name sounded like "Rotee") who spoke English and was also excellent and from whom we learned a great deal about life, current and past, of his people. This walk took us down into a river valley with a succession of beautiful waterfalls, then through fields of strawberries (They can grow them at this higher altitude) and a coffee plantation; crops that grow now where opium poppies once were grown. The hike ended in the guide's village where we were served some locally grown coffee.

We did the Doi Inthanon tour back in May and it was such a fantastic day.
Saw such incredible sights and getting to walk through the national park was so special. Ukrit is a great guide - it was really nice having a private tour because he gave us so much extra information about the places we were visiting and Thailand in general. He also does everything totally at your pace so if you want to spend more time at certain destinations and less at other he accommodates.
It is a bit more pricey than some of the other tours that you can go on in Chiang Mai, but it is worth every cent! I highly recommend this tour!

Our guide Ukrit was just amazing from the very first email, right through to the day after our trip when Ukrit emailed me some photos he had taken of our day. We achieved so much on the day with Ukrit and his driver. I enjoyed that it was just our family - 2 adults and our teenage children. In the morning we were picked up from our hotel and first up we visited the elephants, with one rider to each elephant. We followed this with our water rafting trip, followed by the ziplining. We also had a delicious lunch and visited the long neck tribe and concluded the day with a visit to the temple. My youngest had a sore throat but Uklit stopped at a chemist and helped me to get some medicine for him. He has super English, is a super tour guide and was happy to answer all our questions. It truly was a magnificent day. Thank you

I was hesitant to try out Meesuk Tours but Ukrit was amazing. Not only does he explain all the imagery but he outlines what it means and its significance to the Buddhist teachings. I cant recommend his tour enough it was amazing and I thank him for making my trip to Chiang Mai that much more meaningful.

I cannot recommend Chiangmai Meesuk tours enough. Facebook needs more stars for this tour guide... Mr. Ukrit was very knowledgeable of Thailand's history (which is a subject I loved), took me to some of the most beautiful places I have ever seen IN MY LIFE, and he even brought me to places that were NOT filled with tourist, and as a photographer, it was awesome that he brought me to these hidden spots where I can take my time, take in the scenery, and get a good picture!
He spoke great english, told me where and when it was important to be safe, and when I can get a little bit more rowdy, and when I got my camera wet on accident, he was kind enough to bring me dry rice so that I can get my camera working again. Great man, beautiful family, in Amazing Thailand. The only think I could ask for at the end is when his next availability was. *drops mic* ^_^

This past February my husband and I spent two great days in and near Chiang Mai thanks to our outstanding guide, Ukrit. The first day we loved Dui Suthep,and then also visited other city temples, plus a silk market and jewelry market. We also stopped for a typical Thai lunch. Day 2 we travelled to Doi Inthnon National Park. The highlight was a downhill jungle hike to a gorgeous waterfall. And a fantastic lunch!
Our guide both days, Ukrit, was excellent. He was right on time and drove us around in a comfortable Isuzu SUV. He was very knowledgeable and explained many things as we went along. Ukrit is very personable! The long drive to the national park went by quickly thanks to interesting conversations! All in all, we were very satisfied and would highly recommend this tour experience.

Tivemos a sorte de termos conhecido e escolhido o Ukrit para nos guiar pela cidade da Tailandia! Ukrit é uma pessoa extremamente querida, atencioso, nos explicou tudo da cultura, e nos tratou muito bem! Fez de tudo para adaptar os tours conforme nossa vontade e preferência. Sentimos falta do Ukrit quando fomos embora. Recomendo muitíssimo, melhor guia de Chiangmai!

We found Meesuk tours online and booked after reading the multiple great reviews. We were not disappointed! Ukrit was great and our day was everything we could have asked and more! We booked the tour that included elephant riding and a short hike to the Mok-Fah waterfall. Ukrit was very punctual in picking us up and we enjoyed learning about local history, culture, and how he started the company during the car ride up. We stopped at a small market outside of Chiang Mai where we could purchase coffee at a small shop owned by his friend. Ukrit provided free water and breakfast for us which included sticky rice and fried chicken. From there we drove to see the elephants. I was nervous about riding elephants after reading about widespread abuse and poor treatment of elephants online. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the elephants seemed well taken care of and there were no signs of abuse. Ukrit explained that he chose this small, family owned company to bring his tours to because he felt confident that they treated their elephants well. Only one other group of two was present while we were riding so there was no over-crowded feel. Once done riding the elephants we were able to bathe and feed them. Make sure to give the banana while the elephant is still sucking in or you'll wind up with a hand covered in snot ;) Afterwards, Ukrit provided fresh fruit and more water. We then made our way to see the waterfall which was cool to see, but I imagine way more spectacular out of the dry season. We mostly used this time to rest our feet in the water, relax, and chat more with Ukrit. We then grabbed a quick snack at a local cafe on the way back to town. We made a quick stop at Tiger Kingdom where Ukrit waited for us outside.
Overall, I was very satisfied with the tour. It felt like we were less on a formal tour and more being shown around by a local friend. I would recommend booking Meesuk Tours to any one who ventures to Chiang Mai!

We booked the Doi Inthanon National Park day tour in late February and I must admit it was the best choice for our short stay in Chiang Mai. We found Ukrit on TripAdvisor. He was extremely helpful, flexible, very knowledgeable and fantastic traveling companion/guide. Really enjoyed the Hike in the forest with young Rotee, the hike was a real fun. Hoping to do another Tour with Meesuk Tours on my next visit in Chaing Mai. Absolutely loved it and 100% recommended! Thank you Ukrit and Rotee!!!

We have been to Chiang Mai several times, and met Ukrit about 7 or 8 years ago. He was so helpful that the next time we went we requested him by name from the tour company that he worked for at the time. He has now gone out on his own and is obviously impressing his customers with his friendly and knowledgeable service.
We hope to get back to Chiang Mai next year to catch up with him.

Hi thinking of a family trip to Chiangmai but not sure if its a suitable destination for young children. My kids are 9 & 7 yrs old and they might do the temple trip and sight seeing for a bit until it gets too boring for them... planning is crucial for me as I am trying to avoid too much/long road trips getting from point to point which takes up to "more time getting there vs things to do" ... anyone with young kids whos been and can share their experience much appreciated.
> I am looking for a area to stay that is suitable and near to activities for kids (7 & 9yrs)
> any recommendation of either villas or hotel (not necessary 5 stars but clean rooms with kids channels and/or kids club for older kids)
> easy access to restaurants

Hello! There are the activities for kids to do such as visiting Chiangmai Zoo, Night Zafari. If you would like to do the tour you can visit Elephant Camp which take about 45 min. to 1 hour drive from the city. If you don't want to take a long time journey you make take a tour to visit Maesa Elephant camp. Your kids can enjoy the Elephant show in this camp. For visiting temple you can visit beautiful temmple on the mountain which called Doi Suthep Temple. To go to this temple by car is take about 40 minutes to there.
Some hotel in town which I would like to recommend is Le Naview hotel, Tamarind boutique hotel( inside old city area) Rachamankha Hotel, Dusit Princes Hotel(in night bazaar area)
