Fantastic and knowledgeable and kind and thoughtful guide. Our excellent guide made the experience much more authentic, informative, and enjoyable!

We did a 3 excursion to the Mekong Delta with Water Buffalo Tours. We wanted to get off the beaten track and get a little more insights into the life of the people there. It was also important to us to book a sustainable tour and more diretly support local people rather than a big tourist organozation. This wish was absolutely fulfilled. Tom, our driver, took us to every place very safely. Jerry, our guide, gave us many great insights into the life of the Vietnamese and translated interactions with locals. We felt very comfortable. On a particularly positive note, I would like to mention that the tour was flexibly adapted to our needs during the trip. Jerry knows the area well and was also looking forward to visiting the Mekong Delta again. That made the experience even better. Both hotels were impressive. Each in its own way. My advice is to listen to the guides' suggestions, take every opportunity to ask questions and try out everything you are offered. Jerry was also there for us after the tour (we were in Vietnam for a few more days) and we could count on his advice. Thank you very much for this great experience. We learnt a lot. Even though this tour is a bit more expensive than others, every minute was worth it and we are happy to have had this experience. Thank you very much.

Excellent Mekong Delta tour led by Mr David. Visited pagoda, local market and finished with boat ride across Mekong river followed by short sampan ride up tributary to coconut plantation. Had an excellent seafood lunch including clams and the largest prawns I’ve seen. Mr David provided lots of information on the Mekong Delta and life in Vietnam in general. Our group of 4 ended up having a private tour as ones to book. It’s a long drive to Mekong and our return took 3 hours due to combination of traffic and wet weather. Highly recommend.

There are not enough good things I can say about this your company. They went above anything I could expect. They were amazing and paid attention to every detail and request made by me. At the end they even had a surprise for me which was completely unexpected and so thoughtful. If you going to Vietnam there is no other company to go to this is the only one you will need for every part of your trip. From hotel to food to flights around the country and also English speaking for guides. Just absolutely amazing.

I highly recommend this company for everyone who wants to see real beauty of Vietnam.
Our guide Jerry and our driver Tom were nothing but amazing. Within two days we spent with them we learned more and see more than for rest of our two weeks in Vietnam. Organization is also perfect.

We did two tours with this company whilst in HCM. A half day tour of the city and. Day trip to the Mekong Delta. Jerry was our guide for both trips and he was absolutely fabulous. His knowledge was great and his English excellent. He made it really fun for our two teenage boys. Excellent job Jerry!

My sister and I went on the Long Tahn, Nui Dat and Vung Tau tour. Our guide was David, driver Mr Long and another guide Tony. Wonderful time, they were so knowledgeable and answered all our questions, nothing was too much trouble for them. Highly recommend this tour and our guides and driver.

Our guides , David and Tony, on our Long Thanh tour were extremely knowledgeable, friendly and we had a great rapport with them. Nothing was too much trouble and we discovered we had mutual interests. Our driver, Mr Long, was excellent and had the most beautiful smile. Thank you. Would highly recommend this tour and our guides.

We went to the Cu Chi tunnels with our guide Jerry. It was thoroughly enjoyable and informative experience. Highly recommend this tour. The Pho lunch was delicious. This experience was a great introduction to Ho Chi Minh City.

We will be on a cruise in March 2020 and will be in Ho Chi Minh on March 7, 2020 from 7am to 7pm. Do you have tours that accommodate cruise ship passengers and do you pick up and drop off at the cruise port?

Small, private (if you just want to go with two persons, it is possible) and secure! But...just a bit more expensive.
Lots of expertise and knowledge.
The tourguide will take care of individual needs and wishes, programma can be tailor made.

I sure if you contact them ether by email or otherwise they would cater to your needs. They're very helpful, informative and would/could arrange the necessary tours within your tie window. Also, they will give you the prices up front for you to decide. However, they do ask for a deposit if and when you're confirmed. Sorry I couldn't be of more help as we took our tours while in Ho Chi Minh.

We paid 375 USD (all inclusive) for 4 adults and 1 14 year old child.

Hello James R,
I have read your review about Water Buffalo Tours Mekong Tour and just want to say that it is a shame that you feel let down by aspects of the tour. My wife and I have done this tour 3 times...first time was just us and the next 2 trips were with different groups of friends from Australia. We have always enjoyed this tour, as we have all the other tours we have undertaken with Khoi's Company. On every trip to Can Tho we also stayed at the same Hotel as you guys. Yes, it may not be the same standard of accommodation you might expect in the USA or Australia but we never felt the Hotel in Can Tho was a "fleapit". We have known Khoi since he started Water Buffalo Tours and he and his staff have always ensured our trips to Vietnam were an enjoyable and friendly experience and he has always strived to meet our needs and provide accommodation in places we have visited that are as good as any in those places. I also note that you found the lack of Western food in Can Tho was disappointing...not sure what places you ate at but we certainly found some quality Western menus in Can Tho, although it has always been our preference to eat Vietnamese food...that is one of the top reasons we have been to Vietnam so many times....and the same applies to other counties we have visited, such as Thailand, Bali and Cambodia and Singapore.
Khoi runs a small business (he has refused offers to amalgamate with larger Tour companies) because he values a more personal experience for his clients and my wife and I, our friends and other people we have introduced to his Tour Company have nothing but praise for Khoi and his great team. I am sad that some people may read you review and be dissuaded by your experience (and I acknowledge your right to express your views) but I would urge those readers to give Water Buffalo Tours a try...we have dealt with them for around ten years and have thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our many visits to Vietnam under their care and guidance.

I totally agree with every word Ian and fully endorse your review. We (8 Aussies)have just returned from a similar tour with Khoi and Water Buffalo Tours which was a very enjoyable experience. All accommodation was good and staff were great. Have no hesitation in recommending to our friends.

It rained part of the day while we did the Mekong delta day tour and we may have been lucky but it didn't change things, we just wore a poncho when we needed it
