It was a beautiful mosque, and has significant religious importance for Shia Muslims. Highly recommend it. Gorgeous views of the Caspian Sea. The mosque does have a cover up, if clothes are not appropriated. But as it is a religious place, better to wear loose clothes.

Nestled just outside Baku, Azerbaijan, the Bibi-Hevkat Mosque stands as a testament to history, faith, and architectural splendour. As I approached the mosque, I was struck by its grandeur—a blend of traditional Islamic design and modern aesthetics.
The mosque's roots trace back centuries. Destroyed and rebuilt several times, it now stands on the site where the revered Ukeyma Khanum, a descendant of Prophet Muhammad, was laid to rest. Visitors can feel the weight of time as they step onto its hallowed grounds.
The mosque's turquoise domes and intricate tilework create a mesmerizing sight against the azure Caspian Sea. The minarets reach for the sky, inviting worshippers and curious travelers alike. Inside, the spacious prayer hall exudes serenity, with sunlight filtering through stained glass windows.
Step outside, and you're greeted by sweeping views of Baku's harbor. The sea breeze carries a sense of peace, and the city skyline shimmers in the distance. It's a place to reflect, to connect with something greater.
Remember to dress modestly when visiting. Cover your shoulders and knees out of respect for the sacred space.

Bibi-Heybat Mosque, Baku, Azerbaijan: Bibi-Heybat was destroyed by the Russian Bolsheviks in 1934, only to be rebuilt and restored to its glorious present. The ornate tombs are the draw here, as well as the gorgeous minarets and the odd view of oil rigs that greet your view when you step out of the mosque. #eatstylishtravelstylish

The green coloured design on the inner dome is beautiful. A beautiful Shia Moqsue. Lies just outside Baku city, can be accessed via the highway.

beautiful mosque, the interior looks nice too based on what i could see.

The iconic Shiite mosque-tomb of the descendants of the prophet. It is located on an observation deck above the port, which has a separate value. The inside of the mosque itself is richly decorated, with emerald ceilings and walls. A beautiful building and an important spiritual site, I recommend visiting it.

Returning to Baku after a day-trip to Gobustan, you will drive the Bibi-Heybat Mosque. It is a complete 1990s rebuild to recreate the original one of the 13th century, which served as a tomb to Ukeyma Khanum, a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad. As they did so often, the Soviets razed it to the ground and it took Heydar Aliyev to order a new one.
Not a spectacular mosque, but obviously an important one for local believers.

The Historical Mosque rebuilt on an ancient structure is the center of worship and well preserved. Nice open yard , panoramic views of the port, consisting of the tomb of Ukeyma Khanum (a descendant of Prophet Muhammad), and today attract one and all for its scenic beauty and grand architecture. Alexander Dumas, a French Traveller who visited this place in the 1850s called it the Mosque of Fatima. As this is a place of worship, better to dress properly suitable to the place.

We visited with family and found this historical mosque. No so big. I saw many Shiat brothers and sisters there attending the graveyards.

Fácil de chegar de Bolt (+- 20min). Entrada livre a todas as pessoas/religiões.

As far as I know the mosque is open through out the day, however, Friday until 2pm it will be very crowded, including during prayer times.
