Fabulous last night aboard the dinner cruise , staff were so lovely and friendly especially Simon who greeted us . Saw all the sites along the river with a delicious French dinner

We had a mild adventure before embarking on our dinner cruise as the boat does not take card, and I needed to run to an ATM to withdraw cash.
The crew were extremely helpful and patient escorting me to an ATM.
Upon returning I was ready for a cocktail and the cool breeze of the river as we cruised up to the new French quarter and back. Great sights of new and old architecture bright lights and bold projects.
The French influenced menu was top class and good value, the French rose wine was fantastic! My hubby really liked the sea bass fish dish. The service was friendly and efficient. The owner chatted to us a few times and even had a little toast together at the end. Can highly recommend Kanika Boat.

Après une journée bien épuisante à visiter Phnom-Penh, nous avons décidé de faire une pause le soir sur le Kanika, dîner croisière. Nous avons été très bien reçu par les proprios et le staff est au petit soin. On a pu voir riverside et le palais royal illuminés. Très romantique.

What a laugh - and a disaster!!!!! First, you had to go down a VERY steep set of stairs from the street level to the water level. No hand rails! No lights!!! Steps difficult and each a different height! Then across a wooden 'gangplank' to get to the boat. Oops - not our boat - yu have to walk across the deck of this one, and the next one and finally, get to the Kanika.
Unfortunately, the night was extremely hot, muggy and smoggy. Not nice for a cruise on the river.
Then we ordered drinks... there were 12 of us, and it took the waiter over 30 minutes to take our orders and get them to us! We were told we needed to order any and all drinks at this point of the cruise - no later ordering, so I got a gin and tonic and a glass of wine all at the same time!!! Same for everyone.
Then they took our orders for how we wanted our steaks cooked. Again, it took about 15 minutes just to get this straight! Unfortunately, as a number of our group were American, they were afraid of the food and that it would poison them! So they all ordered well done! For filet mignon... silly Americans is all I can say!
First course was a salad with some salmon on the top. We asked how the fish was prepared and the best answer they could come up with was 'frozen'!!! Probably smoked, but since it was unclear, I just put the salmon to the side and ate the salad. It was lovely and tasty. But again, all 9 Americans did not eat the salad at all!!
When the steak finally came, it was with some undercooked potatoes. Unfortunately, I got a piece of steak that was well-done, and I had ordered medium rare. Those who got the medium or medium rare all sent it back to be cooked more, rather than sharing it with those of us who wanted less over-cooked meat! So everyone was unhappy in one way or another.
Last course was deep fried bananas or ice cream. Best part of the meal!!
The cruise itsels might have been nice, but as I said, the weather and smog were terrible, so you could hardly even see the shore! This is supposed to be a trip to rival a river trip down the Seine... well, it's not! Perhaps on another boat, but this is not something I would recommend to anyone!
I am giving it two stars though, because they did try, and if we hadn't had a bunch of fearful people in our group, it would have been better.

Jai choisi le Kanika boat pour faire ma demande en mariage 🥰 heureusement pour moi elle a dit oui ! Nous avons eu la chance d'admirer un splendide couché de soleil suivie d'un repas exceptionnelle pour le dinner cruise , le personnel était au top , du service a la cuisine rien a dire où alors juste un mot , excellent !!
Les tapas ( rillettes de canard , rillette de poisson, tapenade, ext....
L'entrée : foie gras poêlé et chutney de mangue
Plat : boeuf Rossini et ses petits légumes
Dessert : j'ai choisi la crème brulée
(quelle régalade )
Le patron nous a surpris en nous offrant le champagne pour cette heureuse événement et dailleur qui par la suite a coulé a flot

Very nice boat and crew. Very reasonable for the sunset ride, but a bit pricey for drinks and food. Overall, a wonderful ride that lasted just over an hour and ten minutes. We saw all the other boats doing the same or similar route, and this boat looked to us to be the nicest looking boat out there.

We embarked on a sunset cruise of the Mekong, arranged by our tour operator, Abercrombie and Kent. The setting was potentially lovely; sunset while on the historic river could have been a lovely experience. Could have been. The operator promised A&K that our group of 15 would have been on the front of the boat. It broke its promise, relegating us to the back, in favour of walk-ones.
Denied of lovely breezes, we instead had inhaled diesel fumes. We were promised Tapas. It consisted of semi-stale slices of baguette with unknown substances. I got mild food poisoning. Members of our group were billed extra for beer.
Don’t. Just don’t. You’ll regret it.

Nous avons passés un bon début de soirée sur le Kanika Boat.
C’est un bateau plein de charme très bien entretenu.
Nous avons embarqué pour le sun set de 17h à 18h30.
Après une journée bien remplie, cette pose très calme a été un très bon moment.
Il y a tout ce qu’il faut sur la carte.
Les vues de Phnom Pen depuis le Mekong permettent d’avoir une vision bien différente et la lumière est parfaite pour faire de belles photos !
Enfin le staff est efficace,dynamique et souriant bien sûr !
Nous reviendrons avec plaisir sur le Kanika Boat si l’occasion se présente pour un dîner ou profiter encore du sun set !

Pour plus de précisions demandez et posez vos questions sur le site de Kanika Boat ou sur la page Facebook. Je ne voudrais pas vous donner une mauvaise information, toutefois il me semble que le départ du dîner est vers 19 h et c'est vraiment très bien !

Not sure about hotel pick ups but it seemed to me that any where in Phnom Penh is only $5. USD by taxi. It was interesting seeing how the Muslims live on the river bank in huts. Ask the boat boys about them.

Hi, sorry for the late reply! We are more than happy to welcome you on board on january 12. Kanika Boat is located north of sisowath quai (north of the riverside). Right in front of the CDC doors. There are a lot of small boats but you can't miss it! :) Please try to be there at 6.45pm as dinner cruise starts at 7pm. See you soon! Best.

Dear Ms, Dear Mr,
I am the new owner of Kanika since october 2014 and I will be pleased and honoured to receive you on Board.
The sunset cruise is at 5PM to 6.20 and is 7$per pax; The bar and the kitchen will be opened for a drink, a cold cut plate or a meal.
the dinner cruise is at 7PM to 8.45 (Saturday & Sunday exclusively) and you can choose your set menu from $20 /pax including 4 dishes) A la carte also available.
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday the bar & restaurant are opened from 6.30 PM to 10.30 for a drink, an appetizer plate or a dinner at the dock of Himawari on the river side; Quiet and coolen breeze for a perfect moment on the candles' lights...
booking is recommended all the year.
