Wat Sarawan on streets 172/19 a short walk from the National Museum. Believed to be one of the five original wats in Phnom Penh.
An interesting mix of architecture spanning many generations with imaginative images on many of the monuments. Although it was a cloudy day, the sun managed to obligingly reflect off gold & glass to good effect. Interesting comparison between old structures inside the compound co-existing with tall modern buildings outside. Various monuments outside in the compound & a fascinating collection of decorative images along with many beautiful wall & ceiling painted panels, depicting scenes from Buddhist teachings etc., inside. I rather like the building adorned with plants and a selection of painted panels on the outside.
As with most of these Wats, an oasis of tranquility in a busy city and well worth a look if you are in this part of the town.

I came to Wat Sarawan especially by tuk tuk but it was under renovation so there was not much to see.

Stopped here on the way to the mountain to take some photos. About 15 minutes is enough to get all of the good ones. The paintings are amazing. See my photos. Enjoy.

Actually, the entrance on Street 172 sees the most local traffic, including monks preparing to make their morning rounds. Not on most tourists' agendas, this is a local, working wat.

They are all very similar yet very different. This one has many smaller statues and buildings. The monks are working on cleaning and restoring.

Vor dem Wat (im Inneren des Geländes) lag ein Mann, der offensichtlich im Drogenrausch war. Im Tempel bot ein Mönch spirituelle Gespräche an, allerdings unterbrach er sie, als er einen Anruf bekam. Viele Mönche lagen herum und schliefen. Der Wat selbst macht einen verwahrlosten Eindruck. Die Farbe blättert überall ab, kein besonders schöner Anblick. Ein zweiter Mann, der offenbar ein Problem mit Alkohol oder Drogen hatte lag am Ausgang.

Dans le quartier touristique backpacker de la ville. Une très joli endroit, un peu mal entretenu ou se mêlent vie monastique et vie de famille.
Certains monuments sont réellement impressionnant tant pas leur beauté mais aussi pas leur ancienneté
A faire épaules et genoux couverts pour les dames comme pour les hommes.

They are working at restoring this Wat. At times in the past it has been rather dirty, not the best Wat to see in Phnom Penh.

it is a pagoda that for the monk. It is very dirty, but the building is good. We can see many Buddha standing in the building that we can see people going there for praying,
