A brutal and gut -wrenching experience, just imagining what the Cambodian people went through during the Pol Pot regime.

A must see when in Phnom Penh however it is very sad and depressing. Bring a few tissues with you as you will hear heartbreaking stories.

A hallowing visit that complemented our visit to the Tupi Sleng Museum. To see one of the many places where everyday people were taken to be tortured and freely killed is truly awful.

A must do for all people. The experience was very sobering. The prison I felt was better than the actual killing fields. Great guide to explain the full history was great. Absolutely horrendous but we should all experience to stop this repeating.

So difficult to appreciate the horror and the scale of the genocide, but portrayed well here. My party. All left in a very somber state of mind. But this is an episode that must not be forgotten

Insane memory of huge pain. If you travel to Cambodia then a visit to Killing fields is “mandatory”. Such incredible waste of life’s because of one insane Pol Pot. But, don’t go for a tour. From central Phnom Phen to Killing fields will only cost you 5 USD.

Gripande, sorgligt och hemskt men så värt besöket. Man får inte glömma denna massaker. De överlevande som säljer böcker åå fängelse området berättar inte så mycket, överkomligt pris på böckerna.
Obs! Ät INTE på Snadai Cafe mittemot Killing Fields dit guiderna tar en. Två olika rätter beställde vi och kycklingen hade väldigt skum smak så vi vågade inte äta mer.

We came to Cambodia from Vietnam, and we specifically came to Phnom Penh to see the Killing Fields. We have heard stories from friends that have been there, and wanted to see it for ourselves. As hard as it was to walk around the grounds and see the sites, I think it’s necessary to show people the kind of evil that people are capable of. We went to the S-21 prison after the Killing Fields. Both were interesting, but I preferred the fields

These two sites, shows us the depravity humans are capable of in the pursuit of power. The murderous Pot Pot regime, tortured, maimed and killed about three million Cambodians out of a total population of six million. These sites are preserved in memory and honor of the victims. They suffered untold miseries at the hands of this brutal regime. It is soul shaking experience visiting these two sites. May the souls of the victims rest in peace.

Completed this tour though our hostel Monkey. Was extremely informative and beneficial. The tour was a great way to visit both sites in one day and extremely sensitive to the items discussed in the tour. Great tour

I went there within an organized group so we paid the whole trip which included transport, some other sites beside S21 and Killing Fields so I can't tell you the prices for the individual tickets. Sorry I couldn't help more!

Hi we are short on time so thinking of flying from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh on same day to do S21 and killing fields. Is this possible? Looking at a arrival of 640 at Phnom Penh Airport and a departure flight from Phnom Penh at either 1455 or 1605
Also for visiting S21 and Phnom Penh is it best to get taxi into the centre then gret a tuk tuk to take us round both? Any help appreciated

Is $50 excessive in this area for an SUV pickup at airport to Killing Fields, S21 museum and city center back to airport?

When we stayed near the palace we were offered a simular trip in a SUV for $30 from the hotel reception staff but we were in a central location. The airport is 15km from killing fields and a further 11km to S21, considering stop offs, aircon between places, someone who knows the area, can show you any worthwhile sights on route and returning to the airport sounds like a stress free afternoon. You could try and get it a little cheaper if you wanted but its not excessive, just no higher! Remember to only purchase tickets from the museums no other place, one driver tried to convince us that we had to get tickets before hand from a random travel agency, very cheeky!

You can reach the city centre sites on foot if you're not carrying too much but beware the lack of pavements and the intense heat, you can also make a deal with a tuk tuk type thing or driver to see S21 and the killing fields, they will wait for you between viewings. Public transport isnt a thing so this would be the most time efficient and easiest way. Price wise a tuk tuk from the royal palace area to S21 should be (as a tourist) 3 or 4 dollars at most, the killings fields is out of the city so expect a round trip to cost 20 dollars in total depending on your negotiating skills. Good luck with your travels and spend the extra on the audio guide at S21 it's definitely worth it!

I have one day in Cambodia. Is there any way to see the Killing Fields, City center andS21 tour.? These tours seem to require that I be picked up at a hotel. Is there a train?

No, there is no train. We did a tour on a bus from our hotel. We left around 8:00 am for the killing fields then returned to the city to S21. That was the morning. We were able to go to the marketplace in the afternoon.
