8 of us came from Malaysia and after landing on the morning of 4 Nov 2014, we arrived at Lao Country Club after a big bowl of nice beef noodles. Course is good and well maintained. We enjoyed playing here although the green fees has increased to more than 3 times we read from the web. However, we left with a bad impression mainly because the caddies were overly demanding on tips. Almost half of the caddies were inexperience, yet they were asking for 100,000kips each although we have tipped them with a reasonable amount, which is the same rate when we played in any courses in Thailand. They were still crowding around our van with lots of conversation amongst themselves, which we could not obviously understand a word they say. The expression tells us it is not kind words! Big difference compared to the caddies in Thailand, who are always warm and thankful after receiving the tips. We have decided that we will not come back again!

I hope Tripadvisor will update the photograph and name of this golf course in their website. It is now known as the Lao Country Club and the entrance to this golf course is completely different from the one shown by Tripadvisor.
Its October, the rain had cleared and its time to go golfing in Vientiane. Since my last review in October 2013, I had played 4 rounds of golf at the Lao Country Club. An excellent walking course, good club house, modern and clean changing room and a restaurant with very good food. The green fees was Kip 1,650,000 for 4 golfers. This green fees is inclusive of caddies.
If you go in December or January, be prepared. The golf courses in Vientiane will be packed with Koreans. I have nothing against the Koreans, but be prepared to wait because there could be 7 to 8 flights waiting on the 1st or 10th tee boxes. And in some golf courses they allow 6 golfers per flight.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed my golf in Vientiane, especially at the Lao Country Club.

If you are a golfer you will like the Santisuk Lang Xang Golf Club in Vientiane as the course is a fairly challenging one and each hole is well thought out and provides a degree of difficulty different from one another. The course is reminiscent of many golf courses in India, where membership driven private golf courses thrive. The Santisuk Lang Xang Golf Club is a private course with members predominantly playing regularly over the weekend. Non-members are allowed under certain conditions. If you are a golfer thinking of a quick round forget it as the club does not allow carts. You would be better off planning a round on a weekday as weekends are almost always booked by members. A round of golf here is worth it for the challenge that the course offers and the 19th hole experience thereafter at the magnificent club house overlooking the immaculate fairways of the club.

I don't know why this attraction is still called the Santisuk Lang Xang Golf Club but its now the Lao Country Club. I play there with my friends about once every 3 months. Its a 18 hole course with a par 71 (from memory). Its a very nice walking course and at a good price too.

The KM14 golf couse is now known as the Lao Country Club. My friends and I play there in early October 2013. The lay out of the golf course is brilliant. The shaping done around the greens in relation to the green side sand bunkers is one of the best I have seen. The greens are true and well maintained. I was told they have re-fubished the course recently and what a good job they have done. The Lao Country Club is a very matured golf course with many beautiful big trees and the fairway is kept in pristine condition. It is one of the best walking course I have played - definitely. The only down side is the caddies are quite inexperience, but I have no complaints and is grateful that caddies are available. Value for money? You cannot ask for more, paying 1/6 of the amount you have to pay in Kunming, China for a golf course of equal standard. Will be in Vientiane again in late November and I have the number for Lao Country Club.

Abwechslungsreicher Golfplatz.

Lao Golf Club turned out to be a recently re-furbished golf club with aesthetically designed Club House, Restaurant and Changing Room with large single lockers.

It is a golf course well-designed and well-thought Walking course not boring unlike the SEA Games golf course in Vientiane of almost the same features for every fairway, hole and green!

The fairways are well laid out of varying difficulties and challenge suitable for high handicap but season social senior golfers.

There seems to be quite a number of Tee-offs that requires the golfer to hit over water giving a sense of apprehension and heightened feelings to over come the short distances over water.

A few have broad fairways as you tee-off but challenged by strategically placed bunkers.

The fairway grass is of carpet like and giving the golfers a soft walk towards the green. I can only remember one instance of out-of-bound hole [the front 9]. Otherwise, the walking allows the golfer to enjoy and calculate the best course management as one treads along the fairways.

The greens are immaculately kept to a nice speed and you don't see any different grass sprouting or bad manicured greens as in the other Vientiane golf course.

You are also not unduly disturbed by the golfers in front or the back, as the Club insists on a slack time of 8-10 minutes in-between flights. And flights are LIMITED to 240 golfers or 60 flights per day.

We played on a weekday, and there is hardly any other flight in front or back of us.

However, there is something to say about the inexperienced caddy who do not rake the bunkers. And don't every listen to their suggestions when reaching the green. They have yet to acquire skills and some playing time on the course.

Since we have played all over ASEAN best courses, we would rate this as among the best Walking course and affordable for senior golfers.

I would play there again and again.

i played here in Jan,2012.the course is easy to find on road from Vientaine to Friendship Bridge...there is a big sign on the left past Beer Lao brewery. The course and clubhouse have been improved recently. The locker room is very impressive and the dining room has big meals at normal prices.
For golf I hired clubs for 150,000 kip...they have steel and graphite available. The green fees were 250,000 and caddy fee 50,000 kip
Overall i found the course layout good and there is some water that comes into play, especially on the par3"s.i played from the blue markers which are 6737 yards. The par 3's are 184,182,184 and 169 yards..all good holes.Holes 12 and 17 are also a good
challenge with tee shots over water.
There seems to be a lot of ground staff maintaining the course. It is a pleasanr walk but I am not sure if you can hire buggies. My caddy was OK but no English spoken and not
very keen to clean ball on the green or rake bunkers.I think she had a fair idea of putting
and was able to confirm correct line.
may be best to phone for a tee time as course may be closed Mondays ..phone no.is
812 390.The course was not crowded on the day I played but there was a Korean 5 ball.
I had an enjoyable day and would recommend a visit to this course.

I am reviewing what use to be called Km 14 Youth Garden golf course on the road to friendship bridge @ KM14, which is now Lao Country Club, it has been completely redone with new clubhouse and restuarant and every hole redone with imported material for the greens and bentgrass greens (not Bermuda), this has completely changed the course and is soooo much nicer now, with 1 island green , much better use of the lakes onsite really nice fairways and fast true greens, cost is 240000 kip and 125000 if you have to rent clubs (I rented new left handed clubs) I was really impressed by the way it was redone very pro job, thanx to Kolao inc for footing the bill to redo it, and the guys who reconfigured the course Nice job guys, if I had1 complaint its my Lao caddie couldn't speak a word of english and didn't help me read 1 putt, and no carts, best course in town by far Dansavanh is comparable but out of town a ways, Callao

4km away from Friendship bridge that links Laos to Thailand. Easy access, non members pay 160 000 Kips(about 16 USD) for 18 holes on week days, 200 000 on Week-ends, inclusive caddy fee. You can bring your own clubs set, or rent one for 200 000 Kips. Good Deal.
