They bought beautiful fruit outside. The price has to be knocked down. For tourists, prices in Uzbekistan are expensive everywhere. Better not go inside...

The Old Grand Bazaar is vast and offers a wide range of items at great prices. While the quality is medium, there are plenty of choices to explore. You can also enjoy delicious local food here. The friendly and welcoming nature of the local people adds to the charm of the experience.

It's a huge shopping bazaar and ideal for all outside travellers to purchase various dry fruits,spices,nuts etc.
One needs to bargain a lot for any purchase.
Small vendors nearby chorsubazaar or outside main premises will be economical n cheaper for us to buy

A must visit place when in Tashkent, for shopping right from fruits, dry fruits, pickeled veggies, The fresh baked bread and many many more things.... Its like the crawford market cum Mangaldas market ( for mumbaikars) , with the uzbeki amazing variety to it.

Unfortunately, the market didn't like it. Once they see you're a tourist, they try to shake as much as they can off you. Yes, it is everywhere, but not with such force. For 200 grams of spice, $50, that's awesome! Inside, there's one meat on the ground floor, dried fruit on the second floor, but no one but foreigners is there. They sell everything they do in the supermarket, only the price is twice as high. A very unpleasant experience remained...

During my travels I've visited many such bazaars worldwide, however Chorsu Bazaar left a strong impression due to its size.
It consists of two areas: the main circular blue dome and a huge, really huge maze of alleys and stalls all around it (imo, at least triple the size of the main bldg).
The main part under the beautiful traditional blue dome sells fresh products: meat, vegetables, fruits, fish, cheese, spices, nuts....
The rest around it on small stalls is a mixture of everything: clothes, jewelry, souvenirs, fake goods, shoes, pottery, cutlery, plates, toys,....you name it, it's there.
Prices are pretty cheap, however as a tourist (foreigner) your starting price will be higher, but still cheap. You can also change your money here for Uzbek Soms - many shout 'Money Change', don't be afraid, they wont cheat you and the rate is better.

Generally educational, but calling it a landmark is not going to turn my tongue. Lots of people, noisy, shoved. Indeed, there is no unique one. Except for the kitchen. The food here is unique.

The Chorsu Bazaar is HUGE and has pretty much everything you might want if you have the patience to look. Easy to get overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle, the explosion of colors and smells, the noise of the vendors. The main building mostly offers beautiful fruits, vegetables, bread, candies, meat and nuts. Surrounding the building is a maze of alleys and stalls selling souvenirs, carpets, clothing, toys, shoes, and more. Probably the most fascinating part of the market is the large bakery where thousands of loaves of bread are baked in traditional ovens each day. It's well worth seeking out the bakery area to watch the dozens of workers kneading the dough, placing it inside the ovens, and retrieving the loaves at just the right time.

Definitely check out the Chorsu bizarre. The Amir Timur museum is nice and so is the museum of Olympic Glory. You can also take time to ride the metro. It’s the most beautiful in Central Asia and maybe the world. Each station has a theme. There is a nice hop on hop off bus tour of the city that leaves from the Hotel Uzbekistan that is worth during. It will take you to all the main sites in Tashkent.
