This church is an outstanding example of a Greek Authodox Church. Well kept with beautiful paintings, icons etc. Free entrance.

A very quiet, secluded church.
It is located at the very beginning of Istiqlal Street, counting from Taksim Square. Following the square, turn into the first alley to the left. You can't see the temple from Istiqlal, so don't miss the first intersection. As a landmark, there's a money changer on the corner.
Let's go to church on Sunday. Got to the morning service, a couple dozen parishioners, hardly any tourists. In a very pleasant peaceful environment, to the melodious prayers of the priests, they calmly inspected the temple. Rigorous, concise, beautiful wall and dome painting. You're free to go into the hall and sit on the benches. Candles are placed immediately upon entry. It was just really good on my soul. The baby wouldn't leave.
If you'll be around, come by.
The next item was the Catholic Church of St. Anthony of Padua, there was shock. But that's another story.

Orthodox church in the Kadiköy area was closed when we passed by. The church looks big and the facade is nice.

Erected in 1880 and is considered to be the largest Greek Orthodox shrine in Istanbul today and first domed Christian church allowed to be built in Istanbul after the Fall of Constantinople in 1453. It is a stunning building and we had the privilege of being able to witness a service taking place during our visit. Worth a visit if in the area.

Nel cuore del quartiere di Taksim sorge questa chiesa imponente. Molto bello l'ingresso con un bel giardino e la bella facciata. Purtroppo l'abbiamo trovata chiusa.

This was a very peaceful place. You have to access it using a side street, and sometimes the doors will be locked during opening hours, however a custodian will likely be nearby who can grant you entry. Once inside you can look at the beautiful church, the first Orthodox church allowed to be built with a dome since the conquest of the city in 1453. It is a very tranquil place and a good place to just sit and be at peace.

This church is so beautiful and a lovely surprise to stumble across in Istanbul. The church gardens are equally as beautiful and tranquil as the church itself

Несмотря на то, что когда-то Константинополь был столицей православия, современный Стамбул всё же в основном исламский город. Действующих православных храмов здесь не так много. Церковь Святой Троицы, пожалуй, самая крупная. Она относится к Константинопольскому патриархиту, а службы здесь ведутся преимущественно на греческом языке, но иногда проводятся и на церковно-славянском.
Интересно увидеть различия между греческими и русскими православными храмами. Здесь свечки ставятся за здравие и за упокой при входе, а не перед иконами внутри храма. Предусмотрены также и места для сидения.
Вход в храм расположен в небольшом переулке возле площади Таксим.
