Beautiful fun activity on a hot day. The walk from the car park is mostly exposed so got very hot, but the pools were lovely and cool, cold even. And shaded. Standing under the waterfall was an alternative massage experience! Plenty of ibex wandering around. No eating in the reserve but the entrance area has picnic tables and a reasonably priced shop/cafe, free water refills and toilets.

Ein Gedi is a nature reserve of stunning beauty, covering a large area and having several routes on its way. At the end of the Nahal David trail, visitors have a stunning view of the David Falls. Water from the Stream of David flows here all year round. In this unique nature reserve, you can meet the rocky hares mentioned in the Bible and Nubian goats in wildlife. This is one of the most beautiful places in the vicinity of the Dead Sea.

We covered the shortest trail and managed to see almost all of the ברכי נפשי come to life in front of our eyes, with the family of ibex trotting along and the waterfalls gushing with fresh water.

Why?
because the walk is not straining, less than 1 hour.
Because this oasis is stunning.
Because of the deer that walk quietly around you.
You don't believe me? Just look at the pictures.
And because if you're lucky to be there not on the weekends or Jewish feast you might just enjoy the silence of the desert, but don't hope too much as this site is almost always crowded.
I was lucky (or actually planned it well enough) as it was at sunset and on a weekday and rather empty.

אחת השמורות היפות ביותר בארץ במקום הנמוך ביותר בעולם. בשמורה מתלולים חריפים במרחקים קצרים כתוצאה של הפרשי גובה גדולים במרחקים יחסית קטנים. במקום שני נחלים - נחל דוד ונחל ארוגות- שמקור המים שלהם במי גשמים היורדים בהרי יהודה. ולא רק נחלים אלא גם מעיינות מתוקים. שפע המים ואיכותם הגבהה מאפשר חיים של מגוון גדול של צמחים ובעלי חיים. המקום לא נגיש לכיסאות גלגלים אך מתאים לכל הגילאים.

מקום מדהים באמצע המדבר. הליכה קצרה ומגיעים למפל מים. ניתן לראות שפני סלע ויעלים. מטיילים רבים מגיעים למקום אך לא הומה. הגענו בשעה 13 והתבקשנו לא לעלות לתצפית כדאי להקדים . יש הליכה במים, בריכות קטנות, מפלים. המקום בתשלום. חינם למטמון.

מקום מקסים, שמור נקי ויפה, אירופה זה פה
עשינו את המסלול של נחל דויד יפהפה ולא קשה
יש גם טבילות והליכות קלות במים,תביאו נעליים שנוח להרטיבן ומגבת אין לאכול בפנים ועדיין בתקופה זו בשל הקורונה נרשמים לכניסה מראש
פגשנו גם יעלים שעברו דרכנו ושפן סלע ומלא פרפרים
יש לציין כי זו פעם ראשונה שגם מצאתי שרותים נקיים באתר לא מובן מאליו
נהננו מאד ממליצים בחום

מקום מדהים ממש כייף, אך כל החוויה שלנו נהרסה מעובד { שעליו התלוננתי באתר של שמורות הטב ע }בכניסה לאתר שדיבר בצורה מזלזלת וניסה לשכנע אותנו בדרכים שונות שלא כדי להיכנס לאתר הדבר היה כרוך בויכוח ולאחר התעקשות שלי שלמתי ויצאתי לפני המועד הקבוע ....חבל שרשות הטבע והגנים לא השכילו להעסיק עובד שיש לו גישה לציבור ....חבל.

Posto incantevole , una perla incastonata nel deserto del mar morto, Oasi naturalistica ,dove il tempo sembra essersi fermato. Impossibile non fermarsi e visitare questo posto. Percorsi di vario livello, in base alle esigenze e alla difficolta'. Raggiungere la cascata ne vale la pena ! Consigliatissimo

On part dans une semaine en israël.
Nous souhaitons louer une voiture pour être un peu plus libre qu en bus...
On aimerait s arrête à la réserve d Ein Gedi. Sans guide bien sûre mais je ne trouve pas le prix de l entrée 🤔

Nous avons payé 56 shekels pour 2 personnes en mai 2019.
Hi!
We would love to see the Ein Gedi park, walk in the beautiful surroundings, and then go to the Dead sea in the same area.
We would like to leave from Beer sheva by bus, and go back before it is dark. This gives us the time between 8.34 am and 15.30, would that be enough? Ein Gedi is the most timportant part for us, but we dont want to miss the Dead sea when we are there.
And should we bring our own lunch/picknick for the park?

we took public bus from central bus station in Jerusalem and we asked information center for reading materiel and a summary on where and what to see and then we followed a trail, it was excellent.
