Absolutely! I felt safer in Israel than I did in many other places that I have visited around the world. I also felt safer than I do walking around cities in the US, including New York, at night. I was there for 2 weeks last November and not once did I feel unsafe. Enjoy Israel! It is beautiful.

Hi Lisa! I envy you for visiting Israel in April 😄 I've stayed 23 days last January/February and I was short of time, there are so many things to see!!! And weather will be great by then... I know Agas 1 restaurant in Mahane Yehuda serves gluten free meals, plus a lot of stalls sell fresh vegetables and fruits or nuts and candied fruit which are really awesome! Here’s a list of some of the more snacky foods you can safely buy and eat and easily find in majane yehuda Bamba – peanut-flavored morsel Aproppo – corn-crispy snack Dubonim – another great snack the kids will love. HaShachar chocolate spread Nutella chocolate spread There are also various pastas, breads, and sweets that are gluten free: if the product you’re checking has ללא גלוטן (gluten free) on it, then it’s safe to eat. If you’re after even more sweets/snacks for the kids, watch out for items made by a company called Carmit, they have a whole range of goodies. Another good option for gluten-free products in Israel is the firm Adittas, which has outlets throughout the country, but their main shop is located in Hangar 13 in Tel Aviv Port.
