This is a marvellous place to visit. The Western (Wailing) Wall, the Western Walls Tunnels, Temple Mount and the bustling city and markets.
All are must visits.
Visit the nearby Mount of Olives and the Garden of Gethsemane.

I visited the wall and what a emotional experience it was, there were lot's of people praying and taking in what was around them. I said my prayers by the wall and left a prayer in the crack of the wall.
Women and children on one side and men on the other. The wall is divided by Christian's, Jews, Islamic and Armenians. A great memory I will never forget or feel.
There is a little fountain where you can drink Holy water or use for hands etc.
When exiting the wall we walked over a bridge walked straight down and took a taxi to Bethlehem to see where jesus was born. This took 30 minutes drive.

Recently I had the opportunity to go twice to the Western Wall. This was my third trip to Israel and I always make it a priority to spend time at the Kotel as the Western Wall is also known as. As you walk in you will see a place where scarves are offered to married women so they can cover their hair as part of the reverence. Believe me if you come with an attitude of adoration and faith in the Almighty you will probably encounter Him there. I had collected numerous prayer requests from friends across the country and in my home state and so I was on a mission to place my petitions and theirs on the Wall. How do you do that? Well you get paper and I recommend something like a memo size sheet to write your individual request. Once you have your petitions written you roll them up. You may spend time praying for a while seated at any available white plastic chairs. If you are not too proficient in praying they even have Jewish prayer books that they lend out for free. These can be found on some small bookcases on the side of the area. It is a busy place. Some people unfortunately see it as a photo op. Please don’t be one of them. This is a place to bring your deepest requests and needs to the Lord. So naturally there are many people, especially ladies, that once they get a spot at the wall they stay there for a while. Ask God to open a spot for you and don’t be surprised if He does. After placing my petitions in some crevices between the huge cream colored Jerusalem stones, I sat down to continue praying. I just want to say that your experience at the Wall will be in proportion as your relationship with the Lord. Don’t rush off to the tunnels and other attractions if you can spend time there. Once you are ready to leave you might notice that many will walk backwards as they leave the wall, not turning their back to the Presence of God there. It is special that is for sure, and I tell you this as a Christian. I hope you understand that this is one of the most important places in Jerusalem if not the most important. Don’t miss it.

I strongly recommend this 3D tour into the past of The Temple. Is such an indescribable emotion to imagine that you are there 2500 ago, even my 13 years old son loved it. Don't miss it!

At first I was skeptical watching everyone as they prayed so passionately, especially the women (who are separated from the men) by a wooden fence. I decided to write a gratitude note and as I approached the wall I felt a calmness despite there being so many people around me. I placed my note in a small section of the wall, and walked back 3 steps facing the wall before turning around and leaving. A magical experience and it’s incredible to see and be a part of something that I truly hope helps us all. Loved it, will def go back!

Absolutely amazing experience. Visiting the Western wall and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre was an experience that words cannot describe. It should be experienced in person to fully appreciate the immensity of the area. Its a must see.

Hello, looking for a Rabbi to conduct a Bat Mitzvah service at the Western Wall in July. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

None, however why do you anticipate bad experiences? The Western Wall is just a tourist attraction just like any other in this world. It is very close to the holy church and that’s where most tourists are found.
