I waited 2 years to take this class because the last time I was in Israel, the classes were fully booked! It was worth the wait because it was an amazing experience. He took us around the market to show us where he gets all the ingredients before heading to his studio. We made so much amazing food from scratch and Jon was very helpful in showing us the techniques.
It was a lot of fun and I look forward to doing it again my next trip!!!
Also ice cream with Tahini is a game changer. Never would have tried it if not for Jon.

Jon is a gentle and entertaining guy with great knowledge about Israeli cuisine. I got insight into the history and market that i couldn’t get elsewhere and i am now proficient in cooking an entire set of jummy dishes! highly recommended!

Thank you Jon for sharing with us a taste of Israeli cuisine. It was a great way to spend the day (5 hours!) in Tel Aviv and meet some interesting and fun people from all over the world. We will be trying your recipes at home!

We had tons of fun cooking and eating delicious Israeli street food. To make it better we got the recipes to recreate back home!

Excellent class. I took it last November but still dream about the fresh pita and falafel. Jon is very responsive - I misplaced the recipes and sent them to me right away. The visit to the market was also memorable. He took us to an amazing spice shop where I loaded up on z’atar that I’m still using to elevate my home cooking.

Jon's energy and passion for food was so fun to be around while walking through the markets and teaching us to cook in his awesome (air conditioned) studio kitchen. He kept our teenage girls engaged and involved throughout the class. If you appreciate delicious, authentic food and want a fun activity with family or friends, I would highly recommend Jon's Carmel. Definitely a highlight of our two week trip to Israel and would do it again!

Wow! We had such an amazing morning/lunch with Jon. I can’t speak highly enough of him as a character and the class/market tour.
We cooked some incredible food for our lunch, with a great group. Jon brings such an incredible humor and persona to the class it really makes it so much fun.
If you get the chance definitely do a class with Jon.
Can’t wait to try cooking some Israeli food at home!

Shopping the vibrant market with all of the colors and hustle and bustle was such a fun experience! Jon is familiar with the vendors and leads you on a great shopping trip and then to his cooking studio which is tucked away on a quiet street in Tel Aviv! The food was outstanding and the cooking class was fun for all ages!

Jon was great! This was a super fun experience. My wife surprised me with this the night before and we both had a blast. Jon is very amenable and engaging. Super easy to speak with and is a great instructor. Can't wait to go back home and make authentic Israeli street food. Thanks Jon!
