Please note this was not a wine tour although I'm sure his wine tours are great.
My wife and I just returned from a day with Barak Yitzhaki as our guide for the Gaza Envelope Tour. He was fantastic. He picked us up timely in a beautiful airconditioned car and we traveled south to Sderot which we toured in and out of the car. We saw the site of the police station massacre as well as the observation tower overlooking the Gaza border just 1 km away, as well as getting a close up look through a telescope, of the destruction of the Gaza town of Beit Hanoun. We also were taken to the Chabad Center that was also attacked. During this time Barak was very informative with an abundance of historical and up to date knowledge about the events before and after October 7th. His time in the army and his personal knowledge of events, as well as information gained from friends who were involved in the activities of 10/7 gave a cogent comprehensive analysis of that day and the subsequent time to the present. We also went to the Graveyard of cars that stand as a memorial of the events of 10/7. Barak gave careful explanations of the main vehicles and the history behind their destruction and the hero occupants. We spent time at the Nova site reviewing the events of that day by walking through the site seeing the memorials to the victims and the path some escaped. We were also fortunate to be with soldiers at the famous Shuva rest-stop for the soldiers coming from and going to Gaza.
Barak is an excellent communicator. He was educated in the US. Never rushed and very considerate. All in all, it was excellent. I highly recommend Barak.

My wife and I spent the day with Barak visiting Sderot area and sight of Nova music festival. He is professional, extremely knowledgeable, and a pleasure to be with. He has great instincts to know when to share and when to allow time to process the information and experience. We would highly recommend him as a guide.

The tour with Barak to the Gaza Envelope was powerful and memorable. Barak picked us up in his airconditioned car from our home. He was knowledgeable sharing many insights and facts. He was warm and friendly. We stopped as often as we needed for comfort breaks. The tour was well organized and thought through. I have already and will continue to recommend tours with Barak. He was a pleasure to learn from and experience this heart-wrenching visit with him.

We were a small group of six people, and we arranged our "bearing witness" tour to the Gaza envelope with Barak. Every interaction with Barak leading up to the day was efficiently handled. He answered questions and responded promptly to our e-mails.
On the day, he was on time for the pick-up. We were very comfortable in his air-conditioned vehicle. Our tour was conducted in English. Barak gave commentary along the way, and it is clear that he is not only knowledgeable, but that this is his passion.
Our first stop was the lookout in Sderot. We then went on to the site of the police station, the caterpillar park and the Chabad Centre, then to the burnt car site at Tekuma, and we ended at the Nova festival site. We were fortunate to meet up with a survivor of the festival who was telling his story to a group of people, and Barak arranged for us to join and hear the story for ourselves.
Barak kept to the schedule to ensure that we visited all the sites that were discussed, while not losing sight of our end-time, but there was always the flexibility to deviate from the schedule wherever necessary, for rest stops or just to stay longer at any of our stops. We never felt rushed, and we had ample time to take things in at a relaxed pace.
I would strongly recommend this particular tour to not only visitors, but locals as well, and I would recommend Barak to lead this experience.

An emotional but very meaningful and necessary trip for Americans. It is the only way for us to feel in a limited way what the locals went through on October 7 and to express our solidarity with the survivors and their families.
Barack our tour leader is extremely knowledgable and made us appreciate all that we saw. His information on the historical background that led to October 7 was impressive.

Our trip with Barak will forever be a wonderful memory. Aside from being prompt, reliable and easy to reach I was overly impressed. Barak’s knowledge of Israel was so informative. He answered all our questions and more. He shared wonderful stories about every place we visited. I couldn’t get enough. We stopped at various sites from Nova, Sederot and a goat farm. I cried and laughed. We are still thinking about our trip with him and by the end of the day I felt he was part of our family.

My tour was the Gaza Envelope Tour. From the start I was greeted by Alon who treated me like a friend rather than a client. He educated me in the history of Israel and its current status with the Gaza war. I was taken to the areas of October 7th and guided through the tragic events which happened. Adequate time was spent at the locations and Alon made me sure I was satisfied with the duration stops. The tour covers the border with Gaza and almost to the Egyption border. Having a personal driver has qualities in the guide being able to stop and park up to view what's going on or points of interest. A stop to see is a man called Yaron Bob. He is a genius with transforming hamas rockets into works of art. He has a website rocketsintoroses.com He took time educating me in the development and uses of these crude rockets fired from Gaza. I came away mesmerised at the sculpture's and reputation the man has.
I'm hoping to return to Israel later this year and hope to use Alon again.

My husband and I had the honor of being Barak's first wine tour ever since the Oct 7 attacks. We had a private tour of three wineries in the Judean Hills, and we chose the option of pick up in Tel Aviv and drop off in Jerusalem. It was so nice and convenient to not have to sort our transfer to Jerusalem, and to do a wine tour to boot! As all the reviews say, Barak was absolutely incredible. He's very knowledgeable about wine and the history of the region, along with background and insight on what makes each winery unique. We visited Tzora, Sphera and Agur and each one was amazing, although my personal favorite was Sphera because I love white wine and that's what they specialize in! Highly recommend anyone who loves wine to contact Barak. I am already looking forward to the next time we are in Israel, we'll plan to do a wine tour with Barak again, but maybe seeing the Golan.

My sister and I were on a volunteer trip to Israel. Barak took us on a private tour of the Nova site and Sderot. He shared his incredible knowledgeable about the history and current climate of the region. It was a moving experience, and one we felt necessary to do. I look forward to returning and booking a wine tour!

Barak was really excellent, his knowledge is very good and he shared it with us in a sympathetic and accessible way, taking into account that we were a family group with different ages.

Visiting Tel Aviv in May. Would like wine and cheese and other regional cuisine. I see a lot of talk about the judean hills. Please elaborate on the area and what it offers. Is this a good visit from Tel Aviv?

Absolutely. Kim Marcus, the Managing Editor of Wine Spectator called it " the one distinct wine region in Israel on account of the spice" he of course is talking about the wines that come from the Judean Hills. We would add that there are superb restaurants there , goat cheese farms, microbreweries. This is a region with over 40 wineries and is an hour away from Tel Aviv. It was recommended that we do a tasting at Pelter winery and that they are open on a Saturday. Plus, they also have a distillery and a cafe and we could spend the day there. Do you take people to wine tastings on a Saturday from Tel Aviv? What do you charge?
