Il cane di terracotta

Ci sono andato perché questo luogo è "protagonista" di un romanzo di A. Camilleri, cioè de "Il cane di terracotta", che narrava di alcuni credenti perseguitati che per sfuggire a tali persecuzioni, cadevano in questo sonno profondo per svegliarsi quando sarebbero stati liberi di professare la loro religione. Quindi, è un luogo sacro e per tale va visitato, perché artisticamente/architettonicamente non vale la visita.

Nota: la visita è gratuita e vicino c'è anche un complesso religioso (moschea e tutto il resto).

Nice visit

For religious reasons it was a nice visit. There's not much to see but the person overlooking the site was informative and gave us the history of the site.

La caverne est bien conservé, un émerveillement pour les yeux.

You can add this destination to your agenda while you're in Amman, especially if you are interested in religious stories. This is the cave where 7 youths hid themselves to avoid persecution by the Romans and slept for 309 years, as mentioned in the Quran. The cave tour is free and open at 10 am. If you like to take pictures, I would suggest coming earlier so you can have the outside of the cave for yourself. For females, if you're not wearing a hijab, abaya is available upon entrance, which you can wear for free. To reach this place from Amman, you can ride an Uber for around 30 minutes (around 6JD) and order another one to take you back to Amman.

Will Always Remember

Near a mosque on the outskirts of Amman, this is a fascinating location to visit. Steeped in Islamic tradition, the cave was where seven men slept for 309 years to avoid persecution. A staff member at the mosque adjacent to the cave gave a great presentation about the cave and the sleepers in both Arabic and English (because of our presence).

We were the only non-Muslims present at the time of our visit. Here is where the memory begins. We were welcomed with an outgoing kindness that was not expected. Conversations were had with families and children, pictures were taken, and a sense of happiness and fellowship was pervasive. We will never forget this experience.

I visited the Cave & Al reqeem ( People of the Cave) it a mysterious caves where back in time these people who slept for a few centuries woke up to find a different world around them etc, its worth a visit its free entry 😉

Must go religious place

Awesome place to ho and see in jordan.
There was a story of bibal, kuran and people.
15 min from amman. Inside the cave there are 6 tombs.
Out side also there are many ruins can be seen.
No ticket.its free to enter.

Место недалеко от Аммана по дороге в аэропорт. Пещера закрыта,но настоятель мечети ее открывает по просьбе.Место благодати и силы!Поклоняются люди всех вероисповеданий!Место датируется 68-348гг нашей эры. Рекомендую
к посещению!!!

This place got so many names. Easier if labelled as Cave of Seven Sleepers.

The place is quite isolated though regarded as within Amman. We traveled there using uber, and was not difficult to get another uber to return to our hotel. It's in my visit-list, but finding it during the homework stage was quite difficult. In Google Map, searching for "cave" will not result in this place. That's why I'd recommend renaming the place in the map so that it's easier to find. No entrance fee!

If you're not guided, please note that two of the graves are not emptied. Look properly through the glass wall and you'll see bones etc. Remember, the place was once ruined by earthquake; probably that explained why the bones were seen scattered.
