Contrast of Lebanon Conservative vs Relaxed Side

This tour with Dave was completed worth it! It gave a glimpse into two very different worlds that exist in Lebanon with the more conservative side in Tripoli and more liberal side in Batroun. You also get some sweets along the way! I absolutely loved Batroun and hope to be back to spend more time!

I cannot recommend Dave enough. We were given his name by another traveller and were told how good he was. We were not disappointed. Dave told us the history of Lebanon, from ancient, through recent occupations and civil war to current times with port explosions, demonstrations in 2019, the banking crisis, and more. Good fun, very interesting and very flexible. We explored the old town (hit hard by the port explosion in 2020), the parliament, and finally saw why Beirut was once described as the Paris of the Middle East. Dave amended his tour at our request and we skipped the museum and headed up to the Jeita Grotto, and across to Byblos. We also negotiated another trip with him up the Cedars of God, and then across to Tripoli. Always informative and interesting - Dave also found us some great spots to stop for food, coffee and treats.

A truly superior tour

Guided by passionate hosts, we explored family-owned estates and renowned vineyards, each offering a unique perspective on Lebanese viniculture. Highlights include visiting ancient cellars, and superior wine tasting. Highly recommend!

Superb experience

If you want firstly a superb guide with incredible knowledge and information, and value for money tour than this is the one for you.
I had a fantastic half day tour of more then 6 hours, what I saw and experienced was beyond my expectations, Dave is a brilliant guide and I would recommend him very highly for anyone that wants to experience the past and present in Beirut.
Do yourself a favour and contact him for a great Historical experience.

This was by far the best one day tour I spent while in Lebanon. You get to see such diversity ing one day. You get to see such a drastic difference in Lebanese society in single day. You get to see conservative Tripoli and the old Souks. Then in less than a 20 minute drive, you see liberal Batroun and people on the beach. What’s unique about this experience that you will not find anywhere else in the world, is that that both Tripoli and Batroun are both Labenese. Dave did a great job explaining and entertaining. I got a real sense of what it’s really like and not just the generic touristy experience. I highly recommend that you include this as part of your visit.

I only had two days in Beirut / Lebanon so wanted to maximize my time here!
Dave of Dave Lebanon D.M.C. picked me up at Beirut Rafic Hariri airport as I arrived from the States and we immediately began this half-day tour!!
Dave is a life-long resident of Beirut so can add value and insight that others might not be able to. We moved at my pace, and Dave gave me insight into the current state of Lebanese affairs, the struggling economy, historical background, and so much more!! Dave knows Beirut and Lebanon very well and speaks all the languages and has many contacts throughout the various religious, political, and cultural groups. During the tour Dave eventually got me to my Hotel to check-in, and then we continued on our tour of Beirut.
Highly recommend Dave and any tour he provides ( I also did his Baalbeck, Anjar, and Ksara tour the next day, 8/19/2023 -- see separate review.)
Thanks Dave for two days of great experiences!!

Enjoyed this Tour to Baalbak, Anjar and Ksara. Dave is an expert and pointed out lots of details about the history of these sites, their historical significance, and added value and knowledge that only a professional like him can! I was traveling solo and ended up with another solo traveler and we both had a great experience!!

Dave of Dave Lebanon D.M.C. is great and I highly recommend his services! He is a lifelong resident of Beirut and I had two full days with him. He can navigate expertly the mosaic of different languages, cultures, religions, etc -- always great to have a Professional guiding you !!

Day out with a friend

David was a great tour guide, showed us around in Tripoli and Batroun. He was so friendly that it felt like a day around with a friend, rather than a tour. He was still very knowledgeable and helped us understand all the sights we were seeing in their context. Highly recommended, thanks again David!

Beyond superior quality!

This tour exceeded my expectations, first of all Dave is an amazing person and he will take care of you and make you feel welcome! Detailed tour with lots of history, you'll walk around Tripoli and experience the whole vibe of the city. Then Batroun is a walkable town, filled with history, beautiful scenery and plenty of restaurants. Do not miss this tour! Thank you Dave!!!
