幾年前來過這裡。翻新的精美建築（最初建於1925年），因為在內戰期間被毀。這一次，位於禁區之內。有士兵，路障和鐵絲網。不知道何時會重新打開。也許在新的一年。

Heavily guarded, this synagogue is quite striking from the outside. You are not allowed to visit the inside without special permission, however, which is apparently very difficult to come by. Worth a quick look.

Tried to see but several military checkpoints set up and soldiers insisted the entire area was closed off for security reasons and would not allow access. Their smug look suggested they may have just been trying to give me a hard time.

All roads that lead to it are closed for security reasons. I do not know who really live in this neighbourhood but i hope he will move soon to the mountains and let us visit the place!!

Die Synagoge "kann nichts dafür"! Wir hätten sie gern besichtigt, gerade weil hier (bisher und auch nicht immer ganz) sämtliche religionen direkt nebeneinander leben und ihre Gotteshäuser bewahren...., aber die Soldaten bewachen und sperren rigoros ganze Straßenzüge und Wohnblöcke, hier weil das Parlament in der Nähe liegt, aber ich halte diese für eine Ausrede.
Schade! Dies als Info, um unnötige Sucherei und Wege zu ersparen. Hoffentlich ändert sich das mal wieder.

Can only confirm PurplegirlEssex experience, unfortunately the synagogue seems to be closed to the public as of April 2017. None of the soldiers standing guard in the vicinity knew anything about it, Ministry of tourismn would not answer the phone.

After having visited mosques and churches, we wanted to see the synagogue. Walked down five different streets that were supposed to lead to it, but every one had a road block. So in Feb 2017, I really have no idea if it is actually open to the public or not.

Синагога отмечена в путеводителях и включена в самый популярный пешеходный маршрут по городу. Но отыскать ее не так просто, теряется среди жилой застройки из-за небольших размеров и скромного внешнего вида. Внутрь не заходил, двери были закрыты.

Does anyone know if close up viewing of the synagogue is currently possible since I read an article of October this year stating that Saad Hariri lives adjacent and there are numerous security measures requiring special permits to gain access.
