The palace allows no visitors inside, but it is still worth a visit. The exterior of the palace is colorful and gorgeous, and the grounds are stunning. You also have views of two cliff top forts from the Palace Gates and nearby areas.

This is the office of Sultan of Oman which is primarily used for official meetings. You cannot enter the palace but you are allowed to take pictures from outside. On its backside are two beautiful forts. Right across is the national museum of oman.

Nicely landscaped palace, of course only to be visited from the outside. Nevertheless impressive forecourt and great construction. Everything picobello clean there - you could probably eat well from the ground. Can be taken for a short while driving by, but is not a “must see”.

It think it was beautiful place also you can walk lovely but take look only in 5min!But we can't take it as a problem the region was political

We visited Al Alam Palace in Muscat, and while we didn’t get to go inside, the exterior was still an impressive sight. Built in the 1970s, Al Alam Palace serves as the ceremonial palace of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Oman’s current ruler. The palace stands as a symbol of Oman's heritage, with its stunning blend of traditional Islamic and modern architectural styles. The blue and gold accents on the façade are especially striking and contrast beautifully with the surrounding natural landscape, including the rugged hills and tranquil water nearby.
The palace is located in a picturesque area, right next to the Al Jalali and Al Mirani forts, which add to its historic significance. The surrounding gardens and the views of the coastline make it an ideal spot for photos and a peaceful visit, but unfortunately, access to the interior is restricted.
While you can’t go inside, it’s still worth stopping by to admire the architecture and learn a bit about Oman's history and royal heritage. The palace has long been a symbol of Oman’s modernization and continued stability, and while we could only view it from the outside, it’s clear why it holds such importance.

An obligatory stop to see the entrance to the Sultan’s palace. The site is very nice and the ride pleasant. Do not hesitate to bypass the palace to admire the castles and ramparts that surround the palace

This is the Sultan's Presidential Palace, but as far as I can tell, it only serves for official acts and functions. You can't visit inside , mem the gardens . So the view is quick, just to take pictures through the grid. I noted, of the most interesting, the colors that are appealing. It is situated in an extensive and interesting square. In short, I don't think a visit is indispensable, unless you visit the National Museum (this is remarkable) since the Palace is at the bottom of the extensive square, so close.

Beautiful palace, very nice and clean and well-maintained area with a friendly atmosphere. Visitors are not let inside the palace though.

Only viewed from outside the perimeter. You also cannot get a good view of all the buildings. During our visit we were kept well away by the guards because the Sultan "was in residence" . Not allowed to approach the gates or walk along its thoroughfare.
