I did huayna Potosi and I couldnt be happier. Being on top after two days of acclimatization was worth it. The last day, we woke up really early to climb the last part. The guide was good, tasty food and good equipment. Recommended company to do this awesome climb.

sin duda la mejor experiencia de Bolivia visitar este hermoso lugar y muy frio por cierto, la agencia cumplio con todo lo prometido desde mi partida de la ciudad de la Paz, hasta el retorno.. recomendable

We originally booked our chalcantaya mountain and Valle De Luna tour through the agents known as the Travel Store, but Buho's was the company that ran the tour.
The tour got off to a rocky start, picking us up half an hour late even though they only had one other pick up other than us. The guide was nice and apologetic so we got to the business of asking questions about the town and area. That's when the guide said we'd be heading back around 3.30pm, which ran alarm bells as we'd been told we'd be back around 4.30 to 5pm. And sure enough as soon as we arrived at chalcantaya mountain we started being rushed. 'we have to walk quickly', 'we only have an hour and a half to get up' etc. It soon became clear that the guide either had somewhere to be later, or he wanted to clock in early because of a cold he had.
In any case, rather than asking after our experience at walking in snow and high altitude (of which there were both, and i had no experience) he charged off cross country through above ankle snow up super steep slopes (and if I'm honest, we would have never gone up without crampons, gators and hiking sticks if we were hiking the much lower 2800m Villarica volcano in Pucon, Chile in these conditions) rather than the much safer road which we saw two other tour groups take.
I struggled badly with the altitude, barely able to breathe. He stopped once to ask me how I was to which I responded I was having a hard time but if we went slowly I'd be fine. He never stopped to wait for me again and in the last 45mins, he was nowhere in sight nor was the rest of the group as I struggled and almost fainted, struggled and almost fainted, uncertain how much further it was, if they would even come back this dangerous route, or how much trouble I'd be in if I couldn't catch up with them and fainted on the side of the mountain.
On the way back down, he decided to go through deep snow cross-country AGAIN and told us not to stop or our socks and shoes would get wet, so we'd have to run. He took us that way even though he knew we'd have soaking footwear for the rest of the tour, and one of his tour members could barely breathe. He took off and left us again, my partner caught me before I hit the ground in a faint half way down, and the last 30mins my aunt and I ignored his icy, deep snow cross country path in favour of the safer road.
When we got back to the van he was in the front seat next to the driver, he didn't ask abour our health, experience or congratulate us on a tough climb. He just said 'take your socks off and try to dry them'. And he then didn't speak to us for the whole hour it took to get to luna valley.
We reported the guide immediately to Travel Store, saying he was nice but needed serious saftey training. It could have ended really badly on that mountain if I'd had a more severe reaction. They said it sounded like a 'communication error' and that there was nothing they could do. We'd been planning to do the more serious hyana potosi glacier day trip with them and their lack of problem solving over this really put us off further dealings with them. They could have promised to look into dealing with a different company, or suspending trips with this company until their safety record was up, or at least suspending the guide until he could do things safely. But nothing, not even offering some sort of discount on future trips with them.
The only reason why this isn't a one star review is because I talked durectly to the Buho company and guide to voice my concerns and the guide promised to be more communicative and group orientated in the future (he was a young guy, and a nice guy, I do just believe he needs more training). I'm not sure how much I believe it, he used the phrase 'he would try' a bit too much for comfort, but the decision is up to you as to if you believe he's learnt from this.
If this isn't your first altitude hike you shoupd be fine, if it is, look at trying a different company.

I have chosen this agency after a stay at the Bunkie Hotel, just close to the main bus terminal in La Paz. The agency proved to be extremely reliable for my 1 Day trip in Uyuni to the salt deserts as they partnered with Camel Experience. Completely satisfied and would definitely recommend.

l;agence se trouve dans l'auberge bunkie, le personnel est tres professionnel et offre une enorme gamme de possibilites pour des tours et autres activites!

I was staying at Bunkie hostel in la Paz and I had the chance to communicate with Danny, the representative of travel store in the hostel.
Danny was really helpful, friendly and able to answer any of my questions ( and they were many haha).
I did two tours with them:
-Death Road
-La Pampa in Rurrenabaque
Death road was perfect: good bikes, good guide that could speak both English and Spanish, perfect food at the end of the tour and a general very good atmosphere. At the end we received really nice t-shirts!
Rurrenabaque was also very good; I was reattached at the agency sunset travel ( one of the best in the village). I had a funny guide that could also speak English and Spanish. The food was awesome and in quantities sufficient. Really nice tours where I had the chance to see all the animals presented in the agency: aligators, pink Dolphins, snakes, pirhanas....
Don't hesitate to visit this serious and professional agency!
I plan to do the Salar de Uyuni with them too!

Nous avons fait la death road via cette agence. Le matériel et l'équipement sont ok. En revanche, les seules indications données par le guide (anglais médiocre) se limitent à comment utiliser les freins du vélo. Pas d'anecdotes, pas d'explications sur la route en elle-même. Durant la descente, le guide est devant et ne se soucie pas des participants.
Tout se gâte encore plus après la descente. Le déjeuner buffet promis dans un hôtel se situe en réalité dans un camping isolé. Le buffet se résume à un plat de pâtes bolognese, un plat de riz, et du poulet. Ce fut notre pire déjeuner en Amérique du sud. Piscine, douches et sanitaires de camping...
Retour à La Paz à 19h dans une auberge de jeunesse qui semble être le QG de l'agence. Nous attendons 30 minutes notre dvd puis le guide nous annonce (à notre étonnement car c'était inclus dans le prix) qu'ils ne nous ramèneront pas à notre hotel soit disant à cause du traffic. En tant que touriste et ne connaissant pas la ville, nous pensons que l'agence a fait preuve d'irresponsabilité.
Nous avons payé au total 860 bolivianos à deux: hors de prix pour une simple descente de vélo.

J'ai fait grâce à eux le Huayna Potosi et ce fut une expérience incroyable! Le matériel de qualité, les guides sympathiques et le temps au rendez vous !! Le prix est dans la moyenne des autres agences.
I did the Huayna Potosi with them and it was an incredible experience ! The equipment is good, guides are nices, and the weather were perfect ! The price is in the average of the others tour agency !

La atención de las personas que trabajan acá es muy buena, el hostal queda muy central y se puede acceder a todo caminando y las camas son las mejores en las que me han tocado de todos los lugares en los que he estado en Bolivia.
