Excellent place for birding in Georgetown, with a guide who can ensure visitor's safety. We arranged an early morning tour through Wilderness Explorers with Carlos, highly knowledgeable and professional. We have seen 70 species in 3 h. The company ensures your safety with additional security.

The Botanical Gardens are quite spacious, breezy and nice to relax at on a cool day. The trees and plants are mesmerizing particularly for a nature-lover visiting for the first time. There is definitely a lot to explore!

Unbelievably old fashioned, large birds like harpy eagles and large cats confined without space. Outside a dirty pond full of manatees and. Litter. Don't go there.

There are very little animals here, less than most zoos I've been to. Their cages look small for some of the larger animals. The animals seemed irritated and upset.

Yes, they are there but you may need to look for them. We saw at least six of these weird and wonderful creatures. Worth a visit just for these.

We came here to see the birdlife. The garden's open at 6am so if you plan to visit in order to see them at their best, I advise you to get there as soon as they open.
The garden's are pretty much rectangular in shape. Coming in from Vissigen Rd, you can drive in for a certain distance on the central path that run's straight down the middle.
This first part of the garden is fairly well maintained with palm's lining the road towards a circle but beyond it becomes fairly unkempt. A canal runs either side of the central path although separated by some fine, mature trees & a wide rough grass verge.
You can see several parrot species, red shouldered Macaws & quite a few other birds of interest. We saw a pair of Toco Toucan's.
No facilities to speak of, no cafe, surprisingly.

We visited here with our birdwatching guide and had a great afternoon birdwatching.
Also a good place to see Manatee and brown Capacin monkeys.
The park itself was interesting with some interesting monuments and memorials.

es gibt weite Anlagen mit einigen Brücken, der Seerosenteich zeigt auch Blühendes. Interessant ist das Mausoleum von Burnham, da sind viele Gedanken in die Architektur geflossen.

I like going here for a walk around when I have any time to look at the beauty of a tropical botanical garden, and see the animals of Guyana.

First, I understand from traveling that zoos in 3rd world countries usually aren't up to date, codes, or sanitation for that matter. This was probably the worst kept zoo that I have ever been too. The cages were too small for the Jaguar and Cougar. Many animals were not even present and the exhibits habitats were extremely bare. However, I did get to see my favorite bird , Harpy Eagle. Hopefully, with the oil reserve discovery, they can invest back into the country and upgrade their zoo.
