Just catch a local bus. It’s fun and takes about 20 minutes from memory from Vila. The buses are small vans with a B letter on the number plate and there is hundreds of them all over Efate and in Vila. Stand on the side of road, hold up your hand and a bus/van will automatically appear from nowhere lol. They have a set price to Hideaway Island. It’s easy and fun and cheap price and a cultural experience. We loved the buses and their friendly characteristic drivers. ENJOY. I wish I was coming with you. We hired a mini bus for four hours. Price is negotiable. There were six adults in our group. The mini bus was clean, comfortable and the driver "Sam" was a safe driver. He waited at each stop for us. There have been other drivers who drop people off, go to the wharf and pick others up, drop them off and then return for the first group. Sam did such a wonderful job we paid him extra plus gave him some money for each of his children.

If you have time to do a round of the island there are lots of little beaches and coves with clear water and beautiful fish. Hideaway is lovely and a good choice as it is not too far to travel.

Its $15 to go to hide away island thats were it is than a few dollars to get a postcard that can go into the under water post box itself

Hello, the kids loved the underwater post office. The waterproof cards were about $7 each including postage. Our cards took about 3 weeks to get back to Sydney. If you are not staying on Hideaway, you will have to pay a day tripper fee per person. To avoid that fee, go after 4pm. Have fun !
