Are there any hotel near Cheonggyecheon stream recommended for family of 2 adults and 2 children (8 and 9 year old) first time in Seoul? Heard so much about the stream and would like to stay near it and enjoy walking back to hotel.
Stayed at Lotte City Hotel which was few blocks away from the stream (the end of it...). The stream is quite long so there are many choices hotel-wise, but like others said it's difficult to recommend without knowing budget. Lotte City Hotel worked out great because it's extremely close to metro, Myeongdong, and restaurants by the stream.
Is there any lantern festival on this November 25th? And is it best to go at night or day time? Thanks
Hi - I don't know about a lantern festival. The stream and walkways, including bridges and stepping stones, looks nice at night because of the lighting along the pathways.
I would like to know just how long it will take to finish the whole stream event? Are the lanterns laid out for the whole stream? Does it reach Dongdaemun too? Possible to continue shopping in Dongdaemun after that?
Hello, Yes, it's a long fun walk. My son and I did a lot of walking but cannot tell you how long it took us to finish it because we weren't counting, Yes, you will reach this market and can do your shopping and eat too. However, it's better to go early because, by late afternoon, there will not be a big crowd. Have fun.
Hi. Im a bit confused on the exit to this place. Which station and exit should i take to arrive at cheonggyecheon stream exactly?
I took Exit 5 of Jongak metro station. Walk down the road for a few minutes and you will reach the stream. Turn right to walk along the stream, best at night between 7 to 8 pm. You can walk down to the stream and you go under a stone bridge. The waterfall can be seen straight ahead. This is perhaps the best way to see the waterfall.
