Incrível!
Este show é simplesmente espetacular, já fomos mais de 5 vezes e a emoção é sempre a mesma.
O show com duração de quase 2 horas apresentado pelo grupo Al-Tannoura Egyptian Heritage Dance Troupe, o mais famoso do país.
A arquitetura antiga iluminada por holofotes dá uma sensação incrível. O show começa com apresentação de músicos tocando instrumentos populares como por exemplo: o daff, flauta nay e saggats, além disso há o Muezzin, que canta o mawal (improviso vocal) na varanda do El Ghouri e há performances solo da Tanoura tanto em solo, quanto em grupo.

We love to go to Wekalet El Ghouri especially to watch the Tannoura show that it's really one of a kind show!
The place is very well maintained and displays the beauty of Egyptian architecture.
The tannoura performance is an hour show: instruments solos and spiritual band singing and the other half of the show is the whirling dervishes dance! the show runs every Saturday/Monday/Wednesday at 7 PM and we have to be there minimum one hour ahead to buy the tickets (the sold out quickly).
Highly recommended!

The performance was amazing. It consists traditional musical instrument and dances. One tip is you must be there early, the seats, especially those facing the stage directly, run out in very short time even in cold winter.

Wikala Al Ghouri (various spellings) is a 16th century building adjacent to Khan Al Khalili which now offers an atmospheric venue for the superb 20-strong Tanoura Sufi dance troupe which provides a lively and thoroughly engaging music/dance show for 75 minutes on three evenings each week. It is very popular so arrive at 6.30pm to buy tickets and grab a seat before the start at 7.30pm. Video recording is prohibited whilst photographs can be freely taken. Children and young teenagers are likely to become bored quickly so it may not be for them whilst the intricate hand movements on the musical instruments and the dancing and gyrations of the musicians will captivate those who relish a lively cultural experience. Non-Egyptians pay LE83 for the very enjoyable performance.

Este es un sitio subvalorado en la mitad de Cairo islámico. Fue una de las primeras escuelas en la época islámica y ahora es un centro cultural. Los lunes, miércoles y sábados tienen funciones de Tanoura a las 7 pm, hay que llegar temprano porque se llena rápido. Este show de Tanoura es uno de los mejores que he visto en el mundo. Super recomendado.

The show operates on alternative days and the tickets are quite cheap, the catch is you need to get to venue at least 1 hour before to be near the front of the line to obtain the best seats...must see attraction...its opposite the KhalAl markets...after the show go around the corner for some great tasting Egyptian kebabs

The Sufi Tanoura show with the music and the whirling dervishes was the highlight of my trip to Cairo. It is in an open air theater in the courtyard of an old historic building in Cairo's Khan-e-khailili market. Plays at 7:15PM on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. A must see on a Cairo visit. A great cultural experience not to be missed

Em minha viagem de 22 dias pelo Egito, posso seguramente dizer que essa foi a melhor atração do Cairo e Top Five de todo o Egito, superior, inclusive à visita às pirâmides.
Como apreciador musical, especialmente música pop e rock, também estou seguro em afirmar que este show de música/dança/performance também consta das 5 melhores atrações que já tive em toda minha vida, muito embora, não esteja inserido no meu gosto musical.
É surreal! Fantástico! Divino!
Não tenho palavras pra transmitir a emoção que tive ao assistir esse incrível espetáculo.
Excelente músicos, dançarinos, performistas, fiéis, muitas das vezes no mesmo artista. A música mântrica, os rodopios de 15, 20 minutos, a possiblidade de alcance ao Nirvana, os instrumentos incomuns, fazem desse espetáculo algo que, provavelmente, você não vivenciou antes.
Não me lembro o dia das apresentações; só sei que se limita a uma vez por semana (informação de novembro/18). Consulte antes. Está bem ao lado do Mercado Khan el Khalili e da mais bela mesquita do Cairo, a de Al-Azhar.
Não perca isso por nada!

We'll be in Cairo, for the first time, this May. Based on the reviews, we absolutely want to see this performance. Now some details, please: (1) what time is the show, (2) what time do we need to get on line in order to get tickets, (3) any hints for how to minimize the "struggle" on line to get tickets and (4) where will the performance take place if the old building is still under renovation in May. THANKS.

1. The show starts at 7:30 but you can start getting tickets at 6:15.
2. I would recommend going at 6:15.
3. I would buy the tickets directly when you get there. Supposedly they have increased the price to 85 pounds and I paid 95 because they couldn't be bothered to get change but that is still so much cheaper than the "tours" online
4. When I was there last night it was the same building but a courtyard and stil just an incredibly beautiful seting.

I'm so thrilled to see that the show is still running...
Ive struggled to find information on the centre and on the show.
I will be in Cairo in March...will it still be on ?
Also is it in an arts centre ?
Is there other things to see at the theatre ?
