We have rated this experience with a 3/5 because of the following reasons:
- it is too far, you will spend 6 hours in a car. 3 hour going and 3 hours returning.
- the guide was nice he explained us everything but he always tried to sell us other tours and he was very annoying at the end.
- the lunch was awful, the place was in a very dirty and abandoned street, don’t book this tour with lunch. Instead try to go with your own food.
- the driver was awful too, he drove very fast, passing other cars. At one moment we had to ask him to slow down.
On the other hand:
- Abu Simbel is a treasure and if you like ancient Egyptian culture you will love it. You will only spend 1 hour and a half or two so be prepared for this.
- we left from Aswan at 8:00 and we arrived there by 11:20. The most part of the tourist groups were already gone so it was nice to see the temples with less people around.

We had an amazing time ! The driver and tour guide were excellent from Emo tours. Took so many pictures and the day was awesome.

The price was right on this trip so that was a big plus. However, when the vehicle arrived, it was confusing because it was a van, not a car. It was not "Latest model" as advertised. While I am fine with rolling with a situation it delayed us a bit from our departure, as the driver did not speak English very well and I was concerned that because it was a van that could holds maybe 10 to 12 people that we would be picking up other people at different resorts. When he did not understand my questions, he had to call his boss to confirm that this was our vehicle. Water was supposed to be supplied but there was none in the vehicle. We had to ask for it every time we were thirsty, and it needed to be purchased by the driver at different stops. The air conditioning did not work that great, especially in the back of the van. It is very hot this time of year there. Altogether we made it to the site, but with the delay and slower driving of a van instead of a car, we arrived later than planned and thus instead of being there before the large crowds we were in the thick of it. All of this caused us to come back to Aswan about 1.5 to 2 hours later than we had hoped. But that is how travel goes sometimes. Our driver did a good job and we felt safe during the trip.
