Wonderful to have a museum dedicated to Nubian history. The museum is not large and overwhelming. The museum is a place for knowledge sharing to obtain some history of the Ancient Nubian to today.
Our group spent a little more than an hour touring the museum at a leisurely pace.
Very peaceful visit away from the crowds. We were able to enjoy learning.

Deliciously well-designed space to exhibit Nubian history in chronological order. All pieces are beautiful displayed and well-explained in a calm and civilised environment. This museum is very easy to love.

If you are on a Nile cruise stopping in Aswan try to go to this one-of-a-kind museum that details the history of ancient Kush - now modern day Nubia. The building is beautiful and the open circular interior design makes it easy to see the exhibits. Make sure you confirm the opening hours. Do not, however, try to walk from the dock to the museum if you are older. It is almost 2 miles and the last third of the way there was no sidewalk, so we would have had to walk along side the very busy, unpaved road. It is safer to take a taxi from the dock. Have someone make the arrangements for you since most drivers do not speak English. There are no taxis at the Museum so our Gate 1 tour guide negotiated a price to have a driver take us and wait. We did not pay him until we were ready to leave the museum. Final tip, do not expect there to be air conditioning in the taxis!

Even though our taxidriver said we only needed an hour, we spent almost 2 in this great museum. There was a temporary exhibition about the excavation of the tombs of Qubbet el-Haw, with some amazing mummies and objects.
The permanent exhibit is laid out very well, in chronological order, and takes you through the different Nubian eras.
I also enjoyed the bookshop!
I cannot recommend this highly enough. Do take water though, the airconditioning is poor and it does get hot inside.

I wasn't impressed at all visiting this museum and I should have listened to our agency!
We asked them if it's worth the visit or not they said no. But since we were a group of friends we decided to go and just walk around a part of having fun.
So many pieces are modern not even ancient! statues of Nubian people, horses and models of houses. It's a mix of so many unrelated things. Some ancient Egyptian stuff (these were the best) a few Nubian things and some coptic items.
It's a waste of time/money going there, you better enjoy doing something else

This is the Nubian Museum, which introduces the history of the Nubian people from prehistoric times to the Islamic period.
Apparently "Nubia" refers to the area from Aswan in southern Egypt to Sudan,
and Aswan is the land of the Nubians, so this museum introduces the "history of the Nubian people".
Aswan, the land of the Nubians, has a history of ties with ancient Egyptians, Arabs, and the people of Sudan in Africa,
and I remember it introducing the unique culture of the Nubians within that.
If you're interested, it's worth a visit.

Very modern museum with imposing granite walls dedicated to the history of the peoples of Nubia. There are some well preserved statues and a detailed history of the “A”, “B” and “C” peoples (3500 - 1550 BC) that explore the early history of Nubia before transitioning to the more Egyptian influenced periods. It included details of recent times with the displacement of the Nubian people when the High Dam created Lake Aswan. Uncluttered and clear layout with items described in Arabic and English. When we went there was an exhibition on the excavations at Qubbet el-Hawa which contained some very fine pieces.

Very beautiful museum, both for its architecture and the content of the objects on display. Beautiful chronological journey into the history of Nubia. Very interesting temporary exhibition on recent excavations (2000s) of tombs.

This is how every museum should be laid out…you go in a curated path from Neolithic time to the present seeing how Nubian culture progressed. It was fascinating and not crowded so you could linger reading and seeing the exhibits up close. Upper and lower Egypt were different and this museum highlights sone of those differences.

This is a relatively new museum, opened in 1997; it is beautifully designed, taking you chronologically through thousands of years of this culture’s history, starting with prehistoric times. The museum displays many unique and invaluable treasures from the culture, and we found it to be a most useful introduction before heading across the Nile to the much more present-day Nubian village. Highly recommended.

I would like to know. How many hours it would take to see the museum and is photograohy allowed inside museum. If yes. then do we need to take a separate ticket to take pics inside the museum

To take pictures, yes, you need a separate ticket. The museum is small, but has some interesting items. The ruins are pretty neat, including a stairs down to a boat access on the river (not really a dock almost like a secret entrance). Hot there during the middle of the day, so you might consider going early in the day.
