We coludn’t visit this famous place, because it’s closed for tourists, but we saw it from our felukka, from the Nile. It’s located opposite the Cataract Hotel on a sandy hill. Aga Khan was probably the richest person in the world, he used to spend winter in Aswan. After his death his wife wanted to preserve her husband's memory and this mausoleum was built. They both rest there in the grave.

Domina su una collina affacciato sul Nilo, il Mausoleo ove riposa - sotto una lastra di marmo bianco di Carrara con iscrizioni coraniche - l'Aga Khan, capo degli Ismaeliti: in arenaria rosa, è un edificio severo, con torrette e cupola, molto semplice, non visitabile al momento. Poco sotto il Mausoleo si trova la villa bianca, molto bella, dove ha vissuto peer molto tempo.

Ага-хан III - значимый исламский политический деятель, духовный лидер, 48-й наследственный имам общины исмаилитов. Мавзолей Ага-хана - прекрасный образец современного исламского искусства. Мавзолей построен на высокой прибрежной дюне и очень красиво выглядит со стороны реки.

Il mausoleo dell’Aga Khan sore sulla riva occidentale come le tombe dei nobili ed è stato edificato secondo lo stile antico. Bel colpo d’occhio ma ci dicono non sia visitabile da quando è stato chiuso per gli eccessi di certi turisti che non rispettavano il luogo. Merita un’occhiata quando si passa in feluca.

I have not visited the mausoleum, I have only admired it from the nile river. It looks very impressive, the location is beautiful, and its a token of love.

Like most of Egyptian necropolias and mausoleums along the Nile it is located on the west bank. It is visible from afar. We have seen the Mausoleum of Aga Khan during our felucca sail and the guide elaborated on the lovely love story of Aga Khan and his wife.
Due to his poor health Aga Khan was adviced to travel to Aswan where he decided to stay, building his house and the Mausoleum.

A beautiful place in Aswan, symbolizes the great love and loyalty of Agha Khan and his wife. A beautiful view overlooking the Nile from above, A place to remember .

The Mausoleum of Aga Khan III sits high on the west bank of the Nile river at Aswan. Khan died in 1957 and wanted to be buried near the villa where he spent the winter seasons. It’s said that Khan’s wife laid a red rose on his tomb every day until she died in 2000, and that the practice continues today. We admired the mausoleum from afar during a felucca ride. Our guide wasn’t sure if the mausoleum is open to the public. It looks like a steep climb; maybe the view of the Nile would be worth it.
