This magnificent tomb is worth the extra ticket you need to purchase to enter. Nefertari was the principal wife of Ramesses II. Notice Nefertari's dark skin. She was a Nubian. The tomb is richly decorated and quite impressive.
I later found out from my tour guide that Nefertari's tomb closed for renovations the day after we visited. We were among the last tourists to be able to visit it.

We spent unforgettable time with Komet Private Guide Tours, first we headed to the Egyptian Museum Cairo where we visited the masterpieces there and the Golden treasures of the boy king Tut Anch Amun, then we headed to the pyramids of Giza.
We did a camel ride, we visited the Sphinx, and then did some shopping there.
Really a great experience we had and will be back soon.

Amazing. The detail and history surrounding this Queen is mind blowing. Much of the history of the ancient Egyptian world features this Queen

The most vibrant and beautiful of the four tombs open in the Valley of the Queens (and not only in the Valley of the Queens but also in the Valley of the Kings) is the Tomb of Nefertari which requires a very significant extra payment to view and you are only allowed 10 minutes to do so though there might be some lee-way on the timing. If you can afford it and can move fast then it is worth it. The other three tombs are included in the standard entry price. The Valley of the Queens is less visited than the Valley of the Kings so you never feel crowded and it will only take an hour or so to visit the Valley.
The Temple of Nefertari is a large tomb. You descend stairs into a chamber with one side room then descend more stairs to the 8 x 10 meter burial chamber with four pillars and three symmetrical side rooms. The pictures of Nefertari and the various gods on the painted plaster are colourful, vibrant and wonderfully preserved. Ceilings have the stars on black pattern. Wooden stairs and floors have been laid but there is no glass between you and the paintings. However, there is a 10 minute time limit in viewing this temple so you have to move fast! Photography is now permitted so I snapped away so I could see it later. Since you have already paid for entry to the other three tombs (Titi, Amunherkhepshef and Khaemwaset) you will have lots of time to see them beforehand or afterwards.

The tomb is very well preserved and worth seeing. However although this is called the valley of the Queens, Nefertari is the only one of significance and it isn’t included in the price. At time of this review it’s an additional £ 2000 or about €40. However It’s much quieter than valley of the Kings which makes it a much more enjoyable visit. For that fee you will only be allowed 10 minutes but if you throw the “guard” of the tomb a few dollars he’ll let you linger a bit longer. Your admission fee gives you entry to the other 3 tombs.

One of the most impressive tombs in Luxor, and of all Egyptian tombs, so i have the pleasure to see this year for the first time. It was amazing and well preserved tomb full of colours and meaning, the preservation team have done a very good work, it is expensive, but it values the money, I recommend of course, and if I can insure I will go there again. Do not miss this amazing tomb, for me is the number 1.

The tomb is magnificent and it is certainly the most beautiful in the Valley of the Queens.
It is considerably well preserved and would in itself be worth a trip to the Valley of the Queens.
Unfortunately, the entrance price is prohibitive at 2000 LE / 60 € per person, especially knowing that the visit time is limited to 10 minutes. Finally, 10 min is if you agree to have the guard take your photo and you pay him a bribe for the "service" rendered, otherwise, it will only be 5-6 min...
Another problem, even in the morning and in the middle of winter, it is horribly hot.
Note that photos without flash are allowed.

Amazing place! you won't regret if you come here. Well done restorers. There is a fee to enter this tomb, but it is worth it. All the neighboring tombs in the Valley of the Queens cannot be compared. You can take photographs without additional payment.

Is the tomb opened currently? I’m planning to visit in the beginning of May but I saw information that the tomb was closed for maintenance in March.

Cordialement.

How much is the ticket cost really? I just got back from Egypt last weekend. When I mentioned to my guide that I wanted to go there, my guide said the ticket is 3000 Le , too expensive so I didn't go there. But people here say it's 1000 le. Did they just raise the price ? or i was lied to ?

If anyone stays a week in Luxor, I'd advice Luxor Pass - costs 150€, valid for 5 days and you can visit any tomb - some of our group visited Nefetari twice - was really worth it.

Hi, I am a claustraphobic of many years standing and have to be selective as to the tombs I visit. Can you tell me if the entrance to the Nefertari tomb is very wide and does the corridor reduce in size? Is it very crowded and is it easy to quickly retreat if the need occurs. Also, are you able to give similar information regarding the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut? Many thanks in advance.

Nefertary is limited to 13 people at a time for about 10 minutes, enforcement depends on if people are waiting. It is also limited to 1000 people per year and you will notice an air supply. This tomb is not to be missed and is as large as any. The limits and air supply are to prevent damage from the moisture in your breath.
The mortuary temple is large and open. Shouldn't be a problem. ANY PYRAMID will be a problem, we had a couple of people in our group that couldn't do it.

I saw that you recently visited the Tomb of Nefertari. I'm traveling to Egypt this October, but I have been unable to find where to buy a tickler to the Tomb. If you don't mind me asking, where did you buy yours?
Thank you!

If you are going to see many sites in Luxor the Luxor Pass is a good deal. There are 2 versions, one that includes Nefertari's tomb and Seti I's tomb, and another version that does not include these 2 tombs. The Luxor Pass can be purchased behind the Luxor Museum. It looks like a sketchy area, but it is legitimate. You can lookup info about the Luxor Pass - you have to pay in cash, dollars or euros - NOT Egyptian pounds.
