The Safari Bar at Intercontinental, Nairobi is an open air wonderful place to relax for lunch or dinner.
Thr bar is located next to the swimming pool.
Try their draft beer and pork burger. They have 3 varieties of draft beer.
The dinner menu is limited. Ok for light eaters.
While at Intercontinental this bar is a must visit place.

My type of place - sound level not so loud, nice music, decent crowd. Pricier than other places in town, quite understandable.

I would say i loved intercontinental hotel for so many years.I loved the staffs quite friendly.makuti had been my favourite bar and the nyama choma platter is yammy.
Yesterday i poped in the safari bar the music was loud like a local bar.I got curious. One of the waiter named Antony as his tag named him,started cracking continous jokes with me as if we know each other.As a lady i felt my privacy interfered.He didnt offer me a wine list as i wanted to choose a nice bottle.i could believe what happened later.A man who called himself vincent with marks in his face came and demanded we have a talk with him in the corridor.
He threatened me that he is a police officer .I asked him which crime i have done to get arrested inside intercontinental hotel.He finally said he is a guard to pay him 1 thousand shilling for me to be there. I ask him why should bribe him to be in a restaurant.I am so disapointed for such a man to be rude to me like that.
He later left and the waiter Antony was laughing loud talking his mother tongue to his fellow freds.
I got disapointed and left to look for a nice meal and a white wine.Villa rosa hotel served me nicely as i wanted.
I am so disapointed writing this as a kenyan girl being treated badly like that while other intercontinentals hotels in the world i have been, i have respected and given hospitality i needed.Is it because am black ?Or because i am woman?
Its quite ashame to have un professional stuffs and guards .
We are in morden world now .I would prefer the hotel get updated.

Cool place. Lots of dancing. Unfortunately children not allowed. Very Sad. Trendy place for hip youngsters like you and I.

Hi, I didn't stay at this hotel but I was a frequent visitor to it's bar on Friday nights. If you're looking for a place to have a drink and enjoy a live Salsa band, this is your spot. Great music, good dancers (a mix of hotel guests and local salsa pro's), and overall a really nice way to spend a friday night in Nairobi.
