We will be in Chongqing last week of September and want to do the 3 Gorges river cruise. What should I expect on the cruise? Do we get off the ship? What activities do they have on board the cruise? Any tips from others who have done this before?

Hi, I have a plan to Lichuan and Wanzhou and would like to travel along 3 gorges downstream to Yichang. Does it have passenger ferry or Cruise service from nearby pier? Fengjie, Wanzhou, etc. I don't want waste the time get back to Chongqing to start. I can simple communicate in Chinese, so local boat is no problem. Thanks in advance.

I am scheduled to take this cruise and have a bit of a logistical conflict on the last day. This makes it a decision as to stay for the experience of seeing the dam or forgoing that. What would you suggest?

Considering a 3 night cruise from Chongqing to Yichang. Travel agent noted: Here is the change for the Yangtze Cruise schedule. Since the first cruise this year in early March, all the Yangtze cruise ships do not offer the 5-stage ship lock service any more. All passengers will disembark at Yichang Maoping Pier in the morning and then have the shore excursion to Three Gorges Dam site. After the shore excursion, the cruise company will arrange the shuttle bus (about 90mins) to Yichang Three Gorges Tourist Center (city center area, close to Wanda Shopping Plaza). The Yichang guide and driver will pick up the clients from the city center, show the clients around Yichang, and transfer them to Yichang airport in the end. Questions: (1) Without the lock portion, is this still a worthwhile trip? (2) How much driving is involved in getting to the dam, dam to tourist center and tourist center to airport?

Hi all - the hubster and I are considering doing a Sinorma tour -Luxury 12-nt China tour & Yangtze cruise - at the end of November. Has anyone been on this tour at this time of year and do you think its not a good time to go because of the weather. Any tips and/or advise would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Helen
