One of the must go attractions at the Peak. Walk around 15 minutes from the Peak Tower and can enjoy fresh air and the beautiful garden in Hong Kong.
Also a pet friendly place!

The environment was graceful and comfortable and the architecture was elegant. Good for relaxation under sunshine. There was panoramic view to admire other sides of Hong Kong. It was not difficult to come there, walked about 20 minutes from the Peak Galleria through Mount Austin Road. Such park was also opened for pet owners. Worthy visiting.

We stumbled across this on our climb up Victoria Peak. It was an amazing area of calm and tranquility. It has great views of the surrounding landscape and islands and was empty when we visited. Definitely worth a visit when visiting Victoria Peak.

Most tourists don’t make it much further up the Peak than the tourist areas around the Peak Tram. If you want to head higher and explore further, then you can walk up as far as Victoria Garden where there are panoramic views across the other side of Hong Kong, towards the outlying islands.
Victoria Garden was once the site of a palatial Peak mountain lodge which served as the summer retreat for British colonial Governor of Hong Kong. It fell into disuse and was eventually demolished in 1946, although a single, small, white guardhouse still remains.
Today, Victoria Garden consists of old-world style gardens with small wrought iron pagodas (you often see couples posing for wedding photos), a large white pavilion guarded by stone lions, viewing platforms, a very basic kiosk and a carpark. An information board beside the pavilion has B&W photos, showing you what the lodge looked like back at the start of the 1900s.
The first viewing platform is on the other side of the pavilion and a short path on your right leads to an even more panoramic lookout. On a clear day, the sunset from here can be stunning.
It is worth noting that this point is as high as you can get on Victoria Peak. You can’t reach the actual summit because telecommunications towers are positioned there and access is restricted.
GETTING THERE: From the Peak Tower, head up Mt Austin Rd, a steady but steep walk which will take about 20+ mins. Alternately, you can look for the lesser known and slightly hidden bushland path. From the Peak Lookout Cafe, follow Harlech Rd around until you get to a small park on your left and there a set of stairs on your right leads up through the bush. Closer to the top, it joins the Governor’s Walk, bringing you up to the pavilion. This is a rougher track and finding the stairs can be tricky because they are obscured by trees and greenery but I think this is a nicer walk.

...so close to the always busy Peak, with some really interesting architecture and lovely spaces all around. This would make an ideal place to bring children for a run around or perhaps a picnic.

When you get to the peak be it by walking, the tram, number 15 bus or taxi then head towards mount Austin road. It’s a medium to tough hike up to the gardens but worth it and at night if you are brave enough you’ll see some weird and wonderful animals! Be aware there are cobras although you’ll be lucky to see one if you call that lucky. Take water warm clothes and a torch and have your phone charged.

Victoria Peak Garden is public park found by way of a 15-20 minute walk up Mount Austin Road from the Peak Galleria and Peak Tram Tower building at Victoria Peak. The park is open 24 hours a day, includes a small car park, public bathrooms and a kiosk stand.
Historically, this location made up the grounds of the Governor of Hong Kong's Summer Residence known as the Mountain Lodge. The lodge is gone these days, having been replaced with a city park with wooded pavement trails, open grassy areas and British colonial style garden area with landscaped flowerbeds. The Governor's Walk trail is another nice way to approach the garden, linking up with the Peak Circle trail down below.
Visitors will find plenty of open space for children to play. The park is also pet-friendly so expect to see a few dogs running around near their owners. There are a handful of pavilion structures, a large Chinese style pavilion with nice harbour viewpoints and the Former Lodge Gate building which is a declared historical monument in Hong Kong. This is also neat to see as part of visits to the Victoria Peak Garden

山頂公園同山頂廣場有一段距離,但可以話係必去嘅地方。近年翻新後以英國十九世紀維多利亞時代為主題。入面嘅大草地野餐一流,天氣好嘅時候可以睇到日出日落

Victoria Peak Garden is located near the summit of Victoria Peak, in the past it was the site of the Governor of Hong Kong's Mountain Lodge. We arrived at the garden on foot starting from Victoria Peak following the Morning Trail (2.8km) on Harlech Road to a park where we took at long staircase on the right handside up to Governor's Walk leading on to Victoria Peak Garden (40mins). The garden sits in a small valley, it had no views and was being well used by schoolchildren on an excursion. Within the park there were a few bench tables and Victorian style gazebos, looking down over the lawn is the Former Gate Lodge, a declared monument. The garden was uninspiring and a letdown. We walked back along Mount Austin Road to Victoria Peak taking another 20 minutes.

A nice garden and good for dog lovers as they roam freely here. It’s a good 20 min walk from
the peak so be prepared to break a sweat. Worth it when you get there. Some beautiful viewing points! Take the Governor’s walk at your peril, it has some dangerous steep paths.
