This is a Christian Centre founded and built upon a ridge above Sha Tin between 1930 and 38 by Norwegian missionary Karl Ludvig Reichelt. The Eentre grounds are open to the public, allowing all to explore the unique Grade II historic buildings, seeing unique examples of Chinese architecture with western Christian elements.
The trail leading up to Tao Fung Shan start just outside the Sha Tin MTR Station and require a 20-25 minute uphill walk, partly along a paved path through mountainside forest and then up the To Fung Shan Road until you recent the Centre.
Within the Centre, visitors will find plenty of signage and basic history information explaining what you are looking at and when various building structures were constructed. There are courtyards with moon gate entrance, a delightful octagonal pavilion like 'Christ Temple'. Other highlights include a 12 metre tall cross facing the township of Sha Tin and a stone labyrinth and lotus pond.
Note: There are public toilets near the Entrance Archway as well as a small Art Shop and Information Centre in the building beside the Christ Temple.
Overall, the Tao Fung Shan Christian Centre is a peaceful location and an interesting historic place that you probably won't find in tourism information or tour guidebooks for Hong Kong. Thus, not likely a place many first time visitors to the city will make or have time to see. However, for expats or regular visitors wanting to check out new and different places, the Tao Fung Shan Christian Centre might be a place with making effort to visit.

Recommend to visit this place whether you are a local or tourist. It’s easy to get to. Take MTR to Sha Tin and from Exit B turn left and head towards the walkway ramp. Then turn left and retrace the ramp on street level and you will see some signs to To Fung Shan. You will see a narrow stairs sandwiched between 2 stairs. Climb the narrow stairs and then just walk up the slope for around 20 to 30 minutes following signs to To Fung Shan and you will find your destination. The Christian centre and it’s grounds comprising a church built with Chinese architecture, a labyrinth, a wooded area, an open air huge cross, etc were built about 100 years ago by a Norwegian evangelist. The place is quiet and unspoilt. You can easily spend 1 hour of your time there (not including the walk up). The architecture is really beautiful and you can see Shatin town and other attractions from the hill.

This place is easy to get to. If you come by public transport all u need to do is to take Mtr to Shatin, Exit B. At exit B turn left there should be a bridge / walk way to lead you to Pau Tau Village. Still with some old houses. At the corner there is a shop that sells sweets and snacks. From there, there is a faded sign to tell you to go to this place. It started with stairs but easy to get to.
The hike is easy and have beautiful flowers along the way. Upon arrival to the Christian center, you really feel very peaceful. Even in a misty and cloudy day, it does have its beauty. The architecture is Chinese and it is absolutely beautiful that they can still keep it. Worth a visit.
There is a labyrinth and a lotus flower pond and its worth walking to go and see.
The area is filled with birds chirping and wonderful flowers and trees.
After visiting this place you can continue the walk to head to Fo Tan. Along the way u will see a lot of trees , views and flowers.

這是一個非常值得去的好地方除可以當作行山鍛鍊身體亦有寧靜舒適的環境可以從沙田港鐵站上,大約只需一小時就能到達頂峰 ,身為基督徒更是 適合, 亦有基督徒静修的好地方。

Tao Fung Shan is one of the most overlooked attractions in Hong Kong. A short uphill walk from either Tai Wai or Shatin MTR stations, it is a complex of Westernized Chinese architecture built by a Danish master back in the 1930s. While the hybrid structre reflects East-West harmony, the view of Shatin and surrounding mountains from the viewing terrace is unbeatable.

This place is very accessible from shatin station. Worth a short hike up there to get a view of the scenery and soak in the surroundings. Architecture was almost hundred year old with rich history....
For Christians, the huge cross on the hill and verses on the gate mean a lot to them
