Being a fan of the Transformers movies, I decided to finally take some time and head out to Quarry Bay and see these massive apartment buildings.
There were two primary courtyards that non-residents could enter. Each had different views but both showed just how big these apartment buildings were with thousands of apartments and residents. The colors had faded compared to Transformers: Age of Extinction.
I came late in the afternoon on a weekend and there were mostly residents walking around and only a handful of tourists like me. Lots of vantage points to take all the photos I wanted and avoided interrupting any of the residents.

Cette configuration de buildings de façon rectangulaire fait en sorte de créer un effet de confinement intérieur.
Vous pouvez aller y jeter un coup d'œil et rester discret tout en respectant les occupants.

The Monster Building is a cluster of five tightly packed, residential estates in Quarry Bay. Built in the 1960s, these 18-storey tenements very much represent the 'Old Hong Kong' and as such have become feature locations in various blockbuster films like Ghost in the Shell and Transformers: Age of Extinction.
Note: these is a living residential towers and not a tourist attraction. There are signs posted for visitors to not film or take pictures. However, many enjoy passing by to view the two inner courtyards at Montane Mansion and Yik Cheong Building where you can really feel the closeness of the tenement towers. If you quickly snap a pic or two and be on your way, nobody will likely be bothered by your brief presence. Just minimise your disturbance and respect that these are people homes.
The Monster Building complex is located along King's Road, around 3-4 minute walk from the Tai Koo MTR Station.

This is the filming place of various action blockbusters. The feel of urban jungle is way too evident in this easily overlooked corner. While this may be a photogenic attraction for tourists, beware of the accompanying noise that affects local residents.

Il Montane Mansion è un edificio residenziale a Quarry Bay. Fa parte di un sistema di cinque edifici interconnessi chiamato "Monster Building". Da non confondere con la città murata di Kowloon rasa al suolo nel'94, questo colossale palazzo costruito negli anni ’60, con oltre 30 piani sulla King’s Road, simboleggia il sovraffollamento della megalopoli asiatica. Nel gigantesco e claustrofobico ‘alveare di cemento’ non si conosce il numero preciso dei suoi residenti che vive anche in 5 nei mini appartamenti, ma la stima è tra le 10.000/15.000 persone.
L'edificio è apparso in diversi film, tra cui Transformers: Age of Extinction e Ghost in The Shell.
Non ho avuto problemi nel visitare il "cortile" interno e nello scattare in serenità delle foto, ma fate attenzione a non disturbare troppo i residenti, potreste essere legittimamente allontanati.

While it is a great photo opportunity, I felt a little awkward taking pictures of peoples homes.
While the streets were bustling with people, I was impeding their flow by stopping and taking snap shots. I walked into some of these buildings, the buildings are nothing special. Very similar feel to the projects I have been inside in Vancouver, New York, LA and Tokyo. These are just much, much taller.
This place has such a huge concentration of buildings all bunched together that it really did block the sun.
It is worth seeing if you like buildings but I think respect is also needed.

...because, certainly compared to a few years ago, there is a push to ban tourists altogether so spending ages trying to manufacture that perfect Insta-shot is just likely to annoy people who call this place home. There are currently signs up asking that photos not be taken but they were not being enforced it seems. Just remember that this is home for hundreds and behave accordingly!

Esta es una de las vistas que más impresiona en Hong Kong. Cuando ves una película de acción o juegas a un videojuego en el que los personajes saltan y corren por los edificios de HK; este es el lugar. Es recomendable que no hagáis mucho ruido ni vayáis en grupos muy numerosos ya que esta es una zona residencial privada.

A place where you can have fun with friend!the back ground is amazing !is like a 3D portrait!
Direction: MTR in Hong Kong island the blue line from tai koo station exit B turn left go straight after one cross road(pedxing) go straight then you can see McDonald .go straight to the next road few block you can see a bakery turn left that is the entrance of the monster ..everyday you can see tourist from other country taking pictures

There are signs warning of a ban, but there are no guards there. When we went, they were doing a photoshoot or video there.
