Suicide Cliff is a dramatic location just south of Kowloon Peak and a very popular spot for photo taking of the Kowloon Peninsula below. It can be visited as part of hikes to the Peak and further north to the Kowloon Peak Viewing Deck.
Do study trails and decide which approach is best based on hiking experience, gear and preparation. If hiking the trail to Kowloon Peak first from the east trailhead alongside Fei Ngo Shan Road, Suicide Cliff is fairly accessible for those with less hiking experience. If approaching up the cliffside from the south, best to have some experience, good hiking shoes, gloves and HK trail app to guide you along the way. This route is challenging if not treacherous at times for less experienced hikers.
Note: As with all hiking in Hong Kong, it is always best to make sure to have proper shoes, hat, sunscreen, plenty of water and snacks and know the weather situation on the day of your hike. I like to use the Hiking Trail HK app at all times, even for trails that I know very well. If unsure about anything you can always check in with forum posters on the TripAdvisor Hong Kong forum who can help with any information you are missing or any uncertainties you may have.

Location: Kowloon peak and Suicide Cliff, Choi hung
We started our journey from Choi Hung, around 2pm because we were planning to reach our destination for the sunset. We were planning to take public transportation but there were no options available to go to Fei Ngo Shan Road. So we had to take taxi from Choi hung to somewhere in the middle of the Fei ngo shan rd. And from there we walked on the main rd to the starting point. There are so many options available for this hike, but we chose this common one thinking about the safe side. There is only steps until you reach the Kowloon peak. It took around 1hr 30mnts for us to reach the Kowloon peak summit. View of Hong Kong from up there, is amazing. People use this point to rest in between the hike. After having a short break, we continued to the Suicide cliff. Climate is changing, it started to become more colder, gloomy and misty as we pass through the open ledges to the cliff. There are so many great spectacular views on this hike if you really love good snaps. After Kowloon peak, the hike gets little harder. More edgy, steep and narrow it becomes. And of course lot of small rocks on the path, you have to walk on them. Some areas you gotta crowl through the rocks, and some parts you barely hang on to grass and pass without diving in the sky. As I suffer from Acrophobia (fear of heights) this hike was very challenging for me. My friends helped me through all the way up and down, it started to hit me after passing the Kowloon peak and going downhill to the cliff. You have to keep going down until you see the Suicide cliff - one of the famous picture spots of HK on your right hand side. To get there you have to pass the ledge. It was very beautiful the view of Hong Kong city from there. But unfortunately we couldn't get any good photographs or anything due to the bad climate. The view was all covered up with fog. we were planning to hike down from the other side but as it got dark earlier than we expect and the other way is 70° steep which is very hard to hike down during the night time we decided to take the same way back. It was very quite and calm at that time, only the cold breeze whistling through the grass and us walking back home after a beautiful yet adventurous day.
Key Points: I dont prefer this hike if you are unfit or haven't hiked before. Of course you can hike to Kowloon peak, as it is very easy but to go further you need extreme fitness.
Be prepared in advance with your time, weather and transportation.
Carry all necessaries with you, water, hiking tools etc
Kids (may be 6yrs upwards) can hike to Kowloon peak from Fei ngo shan road side.
Make sure your shoes are good for rocky and slippery grounds.

Do the easy climb through Kowloon peak or up the stairs from the cemetery road. DO NOT attempt the climb from clearwater bay road unless you are a seasoned rock climber or are competent at bouldering. This is climbing up the "suicide" part of the cliffs.
Am a rather fit person and while the hike was not strenuous, the drops, slopes and sheer steepness was absolutely terrifying. You will be climbing up 40 foot rock faces with sheer drops below!

...and choose to hike up here or along from Kowloon Peak, you are in for an absolute treat! The views along the ridge are utterly spectacular: the city in almost its entirety on one side and Sai Kung on the other. Best scenery in Hong Kong, easily. Some parts can be a bit tricky but with care and basic hiking competence, most visitors should be fine. And it’s definitely worth it!

Depuis la route, marche d'environ 1h30 aller-retour.
Pas trés dur.
Point de vue incroyable, à couper le souffle sur toute la ville et la périphérie de HONG KONG
INCONTOURNABLE
