A small train station near the main attractions of the city. Clear. The premises are air-conditioned. A few cafes and shops. You can quickly walk to the main mosque of the state, the cathedral church and the glamorous monument of the country.

Always remember there are different entrance for different destination. So make sure you have got your boarding pass correct at the right platform.
Also for some cases who need to print their e-boarding passes (2hrs before the ride), there is a self-service printing machine that you can use available in the station.

We were a little confused about going through the entry turstile to the waiting area and platforms since we had an e-ticket. The person at the gate asked for our ID and printed them out for us and then scanned them. There may be a self-serve kiosk where you can do this with your boarding code before entering the queue for the turnstiles (which is what we did at the station on the other side of our trip).
Ask a porter for help if needed. It’s usually a 50K rupiah fee but more or less like personalized service.
There are plenty of places to buy refreshments and The offel snackshop had a delicious offering of filled offles.
Bathrooms were all clean and well stocked.

really nice station with a number of shops and eateries. the staff are super nice and helpful. there is an advance ticket booking office too

Clean and spacious, complete store and resto. Friendly service and instant, many food tenant, secure but please more seating capacity un the lobby or waiting room, waiting train schedule and culinary or looking for hand gift its ok here, modern train station.

First time trying Indonesia 🇮🇩 fast train from Cirebon to Jakarta. Nice three hours, working chatting in half empty coach. Arriving in Gambir on time and walking to the hotel. Train station busy after seven in the evening, possibility to eat and shop, ATMs, taxi and buses 🚍

Its a main rail station in jakarta ,very clean ,quite modern ,food and mini mart outlets ,easy to buy tickets at the station but some trains can be busy ,beware the taxi hawkers as you come oit ,always use bluebird taxis ,very easy to get many places from here ,the trains are a little old but punctual and clean ,pay the bit extra for executive rather than economy,

Cek in bisa dilakukan di stasiun antara, asalkan tdk melebihi jarak relasi yg tertulis di itinerary tiket. Misal: Gbr-Bdg, cek in di jatinegara = boleh. Bks-Bdg, cek in di Gbr = tdk boleh

My flight landed at jkt airport at 5.25 pm on weekday and on the same day I want to take train from gambir station to jogjakarta at 8.45pm. Do you think i'll be able to make it on time to catch the train. Im so afraid of the traffic jam.

Traffic is always heavy. A lot of moving parts for you (flight on time, luggage collection etc) but.....taxi to Gambir will take around an hour. You need a train ticket (you may have a voucher but will need to print a ticket), this process is pretty quick/easy at Gambir. Allow 30 mins to get ticket and get through security (doesn’t take that long, just allow it). I’m guessing with three hours, and all risks above, you SHOULD be fine.

Eddy412 where do you get grab car from at Gambir? I thought grab etc couldn't go into the stations to do pick up. please give me some advice! I also tried for grab at the JKT airport but gave up after half an hour. At Bandung railway station I struggled all the way to the road with my bag to wait for the grab and then he couldn't find me.

How long does it take if I take Railing, or bus Damri, or taxi from CGK to Gambir Stasion? I have limited time and want the fastest way to get Gambir. Thanks!

There is no airport rail link from CGK to Gambir station. You have to go to Sudirman Baru station. Are you catching long distance train from Gambir? Maybe better take taxi, which takes from 40 minutes to 1 hour in normal traffic. If you take Damri bus, it will be at least 1 hour to get to Gambir, not to count the time you have to wait for the bus itself.
