I was looking forward to visiting this museum to find out about the dark days of the Pinochet dictatorship.
We were told to download the app to access the English translations for the exhibits. The only problem was that none of the numbers on the app matched up with what you were actually seeing.
There were very few exhibits with English explanations, so sadly we had to fill in our considerable gaps in knowledge with google.
If the app were to be improved, we would have had a much more positive experience.
Nonetheless one can see this is an extremely poignant & powerful museum.

Still under the impact of the movie "I'm Still Here" I visited this impactful museum and was thrilled from beginning to end. In a modern three-story building, Chile tells the story of the 17-year dictatorship in its territory. You can listen to President Salvador Alende's full speech on a local radio when he thanks and says goodbye to his people before he dies. Letters and drawings of children are exciting, some written to prison parents and a writing to Pinochet's wife for her to free her loved ones. It's a lot to see. I stayed 3 hours, but I would stay longer. The collection is large and very interesting. I wanted to have a space like this in Brazil.

The museum tells the history of the years of Chile’s dictatorship and tells about everything that happened during the period, something that must be seen by everyone so that it never happens again.

The museum deals exclusively with the dictatorship of Chile, surely as absurd as that of Brazil. It is very well told, with a wealth of details, and in a museum with an optimal structure, from the bathrooms to the media and graphics in general. I really liked it.

Definitely recommend going to this if it’s your first time in Chile. Went the first day of our trip and it really helped us understand Chilean culture and politics better. Ended up getting the audio tour (5 USD) which I recommend getting if your Spanish is rusty/nonexistent.

Unmissable place in Santiago to visit and understand what Chile experienced during the 17 years of the military civic dictatorship of Pinochet , where the state of Chile, the Governing Board and civilians used all kinds of tricks to kidnap, torture, kill and make disappear Chilean citizens and foreigners without any legality.

Hola !!!!!! sólo tienes el Metro, Estación Quinta Normal te deja ahí mismo. Si vas con tiempo, al frente en el sector de la Quinta Normal hay unos Museos.

Para ir ao museu dos direitos humanos basta pegar a linha 5 do metro ( linha verde ), no sentido plaza de maipu, e descer na estação quinta normal. Inclusive vale o passeio por esta linda quinta.
A entrada no museu é gratuita.
