Cages and pens were way too small. Very sad. Elephants and giraffes in tiny enclosures. I found it very depressing. This zoo needs to be shut down and animals sent to sanctuaries.

We were very happy but seeing the number of people transiting is horrible too full, that adds to the little effort in the care of the animals and see them in such depressing conditions. The elephant without any totally dehydrated water does not even open its eyes. Many empty places, it is also observed that there is no caution with the ramps, they are very steep no access to cars or facilities for people with low mobility. Where there is shade there is no seating for or facilities for breastfeeding mommies. It is a place in complement abandonment, the fact that it is currently free leaves it completely abandoned. You don't see park rangers or guards anywhere. Add to that the bad toilet of the animals and the terrible living conditions they are found. We had a great family time but we came with a feeling of nostalgia for the lack of care

I took my 2-year-old baby and he loved it. Due to the cold, some animals were hidden and others will enter the zoo soon, but still worth it, as the tickets were free. It is very well signaled too and I felt safe. The only negative point is the accessibility I found a little bad, despite having ramps, the zoo is vertical, so it rises a lot by them.

The condition of the enclosures are small for animals, very steep to climb with car or children although it has ramp is not very accessible, little information, visually not cute either, not a walk for the family.

Horrible, very dirty, animals are gone, who knows they made them, there are a few left. It's a garbage and pichi joint.

An easily accessible location and a must-see for anyone going to Cerro São Cristóvão! Clean and well signposted zoo. The animals are well treated, in addition to having several species of animals! From birds to elephants, it really does justice to a zoo! I thought it was incredible!

My visit to the Zoologico Nacional de Chile was disappointing and worrying. The conditions in which the animals live appear to be far below what is expected of modern zoos. The enclosures are clearly too small and offer few opportunities for activity, suggesting that the animals do not receive the mental and physical stimulation needed for their well-being. There is a lack of adequate space and appropriate environments that approximate the animals' natural habitats. This situation not only leads to visible lethargy in the animals, but also raises serious questions about the compliance with animal welfare standards. I would recommend avoiding this place until substantial improvements are made to ensure the welfare of the animals.

Over the years the place has deteriorated and the animals look unhappy and stressed. The last visit I made was very unfortunate, since the animals looked dirty, disoriented and sad; For this same reason I didn't want to take many photographs because it made me very sad. The animals hid so as not to be close to people and avoid being photographed or disturbed.

The zoo was free for us as we are seniors which is very good. However, the poor animals are kept in such small enclosures that they look demented. The keepers are obviously dedicated but really, in this day and age should wild animals be treated this way. Made me really sad to see them. I would have been happier pay a decent fee and the animals be happier. We didn't take any photos as it would have felt wrong.

It's a little sad for the animals that are from cold regions like the llama and the guanacos, they suffer in this strong summer.
